Biography - Garić Sanja

Finished ballet primary school in Podgorica and ballet high school in Novi Sad in the class of prof. Vera Felle. Further two year professional training in classical ballet attended in Russia, at the famous GITIS university, in the class of prof. N.N. Orlovska. Meanwhile, graduated at the Faculty of Philosophy in Niksic, in the field of Preschool education. Finished five year studies of Art of dance in Moscow, GITIS, in the class of prof. L. M. Talankina, acquiring a pedagogue-choreographer diploma, specialized for musical and drama theatre. Awarded with a Red diploma, assigned to the best graduating students.
Engaged at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Cetinje, since the year of 2001. After working as an assistant in the subject of Movement – segment Dance, started working as a full time assistant in Dance subject in 2003. Since the year of 2004/2005 started teaching Dance as an independent lecturer. Became a docent in 2009 and associate professor in 2014. Assigned as a Vice Dean from 2007 to 2009 and from 2010 to 2015. A member of the Vocational Council of University of Montenegro (Council of Art) since May of 2013.
Equally active in the fields of choreography and dance pedagogy, also contributing in the ballet and dance affirmation in Montenegro through various projects, lectures and writing about dance. One of the founders of the Dance Festival - Allegro. A member of the International Dance Association China-CEEC Dance Culture Union. Author of many dance performances, choreography miniatures, video-choreography works, of which many took place in the  domestic and international festivals (some of them beeing: Venice Biennale, Short film festival in Belgrade, Cinematography festival SEE Paris, Film festival Herceg-Novi).
Lately, in her focus of interest is the art for social change. In that field, she had a successful cooperation with UNICEF, accomplishing project of Traveling theater within the campaign Preschool for All (promotion of preschool education in the north of Montenegro), initiated by UNICEF and the Ministry of Education of Montenegro during 2015 and 2016. Also, she is an author of the performance I am Hope within the Government of Montenegro and UNICEF campaign Every child needs a family. On that occasion, she had an opportunity to cooperate with the famous British actor Nicholas Lyndhurst.
