Biography - Danijel Cerović
Danijel Cerović is one of the prominent Montenegrin classical music performers with an active international concert career. He has delivered numerous solo and ensemble performances at prestigious international festivals, concert series, and tours worldwide, including venues in Argentina (Buenos Aires - Festival del Mundo), the United States (Guitar Foundation of America - Denver 2016, Los Angeles, Chapman University, Minneapolis, San Francisco), Canada (Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg), China (Shenyang festival, Qinling festival), South Korea (Seoul, Daejeon), Russia (St. Petersburg Philharmonic), France (Paris Guitar Foundation), Italy (Conservatorio di musica - Trieste), Montenegro (A tempo, Kotor art, Budva Grad Teatar, Barski Ljetopis), Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey (Istanbul Guitar Festival), Croatia (Lisinski, OGF, Muzička Omladina - Grožnjan), Slovenia (Slovenian Philharmonic Hall), North Macedonia, Greece, Germany (Koblenz guitar festival), the Netherlands (Concertgebouw Amsterdam - Guitar Masters), Spain (Manuel de Falla hall - Madrid; Granada festival), Bosnia and Herzegovina (Sarajevo guitar festival), Albania (Academy of Arts Hall - Tirana), Luxembourg (Villa Vauban), Portugal, Belgium (Konzervatorijum LUCA in Leuven), Poland, Estonia, Moldova, and Greece. As a soloist and member of the Montenegrin Guitar Duo, he has collaborated with the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra, Daejeon Symphony Orchestra (Korea), Shenyang Symphony Orchestra (China), Mossani Strings Orchestra (Netherlands), Quartet Rubikon (Serbia), and Camerata Quartet (Poland).
 
In his role as a soloist, he has recorded a CD featuring compositions by Scarlatti, Sor, and Giuliani. As a member of Duo Amarilli with mezzo-soprano Amanda Stojović, he recorded a CD comprising music for voice and guitar, as well as a CD of music for two guitars with Goran Krivokapić, released by the Music Center of Montenegro. In 2014 and 2016, as part of the Montenegrin Guitar Duo with Goran Krivokapić, he transcribed and recorded 6 English Suites by Johann Sebastian Bach on two CDs for NAXOS Records. Both releases received outstanding reviews from leading global classical music magazines and portals, such as Londons Gramophone, American Record Guide, Soundboard, WGBH Radio - Boston (Best CD of the week award), ClassicsToday, Guitare Classique, and others. Furthermore, the CD releases were featured on Radio BBC 3, Radio NL 4, and through the prestigious radio show Guitar Alive on over 250 stations across the USA, as well as in Denmark, China, Taiwan, New Zealand, and Australia. His CD featuring transcriptions of music by Silvius Leopold Weiss, released in 2020 by Naxos, received exceptional reviews, followed by a notographic edition of his transcriptions published by the AGV organization in collaboration with Savarez.
 
He is a co-founder and the artistic director of the international Nikšić Guitar Festival (established in 2005). Additionally, he is a co-founder and artistic director of the Montenegro International Guitar Competition project (Tivat, Podgorica), which, along with 17 similar events across Europe, is part of the EuroStrings project financed by the European Unions Creative Europe program from 2017 to 2021. Winners from the previous seventeen editions of the competition hail from around the world, and the valuable prize fund, including master instruments by Andreas Marvi (Spain) and Slavko Mrdalj (Serbia), as well as concerts with the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra, have established this competition as a recognizable milestone in the development of young guitarists careers globally. Numerous institutions, both domestic and international, support the project, including the Municipality of Nikšić, Nikšić Theatre, Music School Dara Čokorilo, Public Institution Music Center of Montenegro, Ministry of Culture, French company Savarez, American company DAddario, Center for Culture - Tivat, Municipality of Tivat, Hotel Regent - Porto Montenegro, Capital Plaza - Podgorica, and the Ćano Koprivica Foundation.
 
Through the NGO Anagastum Guitar Society, where he has served as director for several years, he has organized more than 200 concerts featuring prestigious classical guitar artists such as Manuel Barrueco (USA), Tilman Hoppstock (Germany), Carlo Marchione (Italy), Dušan Bogdanović (USA), Roberto Aussel (Argentina), and many others.
 
Since 2003, he has been actively involved at the Music Academy in Cetinje. Since 2018, he has been serving as a visiting lecturer at the Music Academy in Sarajevo. Students from his class consistently receive awards at national and international guitar competitions, representing their institutions in numerous concerts.
 
Danijel Cerović regularly conducts masterclasses both domestically and internationally at universities such as Chapman University (USA), Metropolitan University - Denver (USA), Toronto University (Canada), Montreal Conservatory (Canada), Manitoba University (Canada), North Dakota University (USA), California Conservatory of Music (San Jose, USA), Maastricht Conservatory (Netherlands), Tianjin Conservatory (China), and others. He is also actively involved as a lecturer at prestigious festivals worldwide, including GFA 2016, Koblenz Festival (Germany), Shenyang Festival (China), and others.
 
In addition to his extensive musical career, Danijel Cerović is a Tonebase instructor, contributing to the platforms educational offerings and sharing his expertise with a global audience of guitar enthusiasts and learners.
 
He serves as a jury member at international guitar competitions, including EuroStrings Competition (Zagreb 2018), Istanbul Guitar Competition, Guitar Concerto Competition (Groningen - Netherlands), Viseu Competition (Portugal), Shenyang Festival, Qinling Festival (China), and others.
