Biography - Milović Ilija
I was born in Tivat on 2nd August 1952. I finished Elementary school in Tivat and after that Maritime School in Kotor in 1971. I graduated from the High Maritime School in January 1975.
In 1979 I had an offer to work at Maritime School in Kotor as a teacher and I gladly accepted. During the summer vacations, I used to join the ships in order to stay active and keep a step with the practical part of my vocation. I was sailing on different types of the ship depending on the offered opportunity.
In 1979 I entered Maritime Faculty in Rijeka and graduated in 1985 obtaining the title “Master of Science Engineer of Maritime Transport of Nautical Orientation” ( Abb: MSc Eng MT Naut).
I also worked as the examiner at Harbor Master's Office in Kotor for candidates obtaining Master and Deck Officer Licenses.
I had worked in the Maritime School Kotor until 1994 when I quit further teaching and devoted myself solely to the shipping. Occasionally, when I was on vacation, I was still part of exam committee at Harbor Office in Kotor. After a few years I had to quit that too, due to my unpredictable stay on board the ship.
I was sailing on several different companies and different ship’s types.
The last ten years, before my retirement on October 2013, I sailed exclusively on container ships, and since then I have been retired.
