Biography

Bojan Masanovic is a citizen of the Republic of Serbia with permanent residence in Cetinje. He is currently engaged as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education in Nikšić for teaching on the following subjects: Biomechanics of Exercise and Sport, Functional Anatomy and Biomechanics, Research in Sports, Combat sports (karate and boxing), Planning and programming in sports.

He was born on May 19, 1977 in Lazarevac. He finished elementary school in Lovćenac (1992), Gymnasium in Novi Sad (1996), Faculty of Sport and Physical Education of the University of Novi Sad (1997-2001). He defended his Master thesis - Determination of the physical composition of athletes at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education of the University of Novi Sad (2009). Doctoral dissertation - Anthropological indicators of the success of the proprioceptive training of footballers and students aged 15-16 years defended at the University of Novi Sad on February 27^th 2015.

He is actively engaged in research work, and to date, he has authored and co-authored more than 100 peer-reviewed articles in multidisciplinary journals, including those with high impact factors from Q1 and Q2 category.

He always showed sympathy towards sports and competition. He has competed in several sports (Karate, Chess, Handball, Football, Futsal and Horseback Riding) and has coached several football and equestrian clubs. He holds the C national license of the football coach of the Serbian Football Federation and the C license of the ski instructor of the Montenegrin Ski Association of the Montenegrin Association of Instructors and Coaches.

He has gained his work experience at the „Dositej Obradović“ Gymnasium in Srbobran (2002/2003) and the Agricultural School in Bačka Topola (2003-2017). He was the president of the Sport Association „Mladost“ from Lovćenac, which organized sports competitions, sports and cultural events, promoted healthy lifestyle and environmental protection. In 2017, he was engaged as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education in Nikšić, while he was appointed as Assistant Professor at University of Montenegro in field of Sport science on September 18^th 2019. By the rectors decision, he performed the function of acting vice dean for education from February 25 to November 11, 2022, and the function of vice dean for science from November 11, 2022 to September 26, 2023.

He has been repeatedly rewarded by credit mobility within the ERASMUS + and CEEPUS programs, which enabled him to teach at several universities, in Spain, Croatia (3 times), Turkey (2 times), Czech Republic (4 times), Slovenia, Hungary, France and the Netherlands. He is a participant in two ERASMUS + Sport project (researcher and administrator in EUFITMOS; manager and researcher in SWOST), six other scientific and bilateral projects, and is a representative of Montenegro in five COST actions. He was the editor-in-chief of the international journals "Journal of Anthropology of Sport and Physical Education" and "Innovative Technologies in Sport and Physical Activity". He is a regular member of the editorial board of the international journals "Frontiers in Nutritions", "Frontiers in Physiology", "Frontiers in Sports and Active Living", „PLOS One”, „Journal of Environmental and Public Health” and "BMC Public Health", and editor of special issues in the international journals "Frontiers in Public Health", "Frontiers in Pediatrics", "BioMed Research International" “Frontiers in Surgery” and "Children". He is an Ad-Hoc Reviewer in several international journals (Montenegrin Journal of Sports Science and Medicine; Sport Mont; International Journal of General Medicine; Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome and Obesity Targets and Therapy; Scientific Reports; BMC Sports Science, Medicine and Rehabilitation; PLOS One; Psychology Research and Behavior Managemen; Risk Management and Healthcare Policy; Baltic Journal of Health and Physical Activity; Frontiers in Pediatrics; Frontiers in Public Health; Journal of Sport Rehabilitation; Nutricion Hospitalaria; Physician and Sportsmedicine; Medicina; Patient Preference and Adherence; Frontiers in Sports and Active Living; Children; BMC Public Health; Journal of Clinical Medicine; BMJ Open; Bioengineering; Public Policy and Administration; Biomedical Human Kinetics; Kinesiologia Slovenica; PeerJ). For four years, he has been the president of the organizing committee of the annual international scientific conference organized by the Montenegrin Sports Academy (2019-2022), and in 2022 he has been the president of the international scientific conference organized by PASTECHL. The University of Montenegro awarded him recognition for the achieved results and contributions to the development of scientific research, artistic and professional work at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education in 2019, and the Albanian Association of Sports Sciences (ASSA) awarded him with the Award for outstanding contribution to the development of education and sports sciences in Albania through scientific research in 2022. In June 2022, he was elected as the coordinator of the only Montenegrin CEEPUS network called "Education, training and research in the multidisciplinary field of sports sciences", which consists of 13 European universities.
