Biography - Đurović Zorica

Zorica Đurović has been an employee of the Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor in the current position of Assistant Professor and previously as an Assistant Teacher for the English language since 2007. She has been engaged in the departments of Marine Engineering, and Marine Electrical Engineering, as well as with the Training Centre for Seafarers. She is the Head of the Marine Engineering Study Programme and Public Relations Coordinator. She has also been a member of the Editorial Board of Časopis Pomorskog fakulteta Kotor - Journal of Maritime Sciences and the Organizing Committee of the Kotor International Maritime Conference (KIMC). 

She also covered the position of the examiner within the Seafarers’ Certification Centre of the Port Harbours Office in Kotor. She also worked as the Coordinator of the joint training centre with the Norwegian University of Aalesund and has taken part in the development and implementation of other projects with the Faculty being the holder or partner thereof.

Her earlier engagements, as of 1998, included several translation and logistics jobs for international organizations within international programmes in Montenegro and Serbia.

She graduated in 2001 from the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić, Department of English Language and Literature. In 2014 she was awarded the Master’s Degree in Linguistics. In 2021 she defended her doctoral dissertation titled "Using corpus linguistics methods for the enhancement of marine engineering vocabulary teaching and learning". 

She holds the Certificate on One-Year Training for Technical Translators and Court Interpreters in Belgrade. In 2013 she obtained the Certificate on the completed training for the teachers of general and maritime English in London.
