Biography - Karadžić Uroš

I was born on May 8, 1974. year. in Savnik, Montenegro. I finished elementary school in Šavnik and the secondary Mechanical and Metal school in Nikšić.

I graduated at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Podgorica in 1999, defending the thesis titled "Calculation of Canal Network for Air Supply in Air Conditioning Systems" with a score of 10 (ten).

Postgraduate studies, the direction of Energetics, I enrolled at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in 2000. year. I completed my postgraduate studies with an average grade of 9.5. I defended the master thesis entitled "Analysis of transient phenomena in hydraulic systems" in October 2004.

Doctoral dissertation titled "Modeling complex boundary conditions for transient processes in hydraulic systems" was defended on November 20, 2008. at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Podgorica.

From May 2000 to October 2009, I was employed at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Podgorica, as an associate, and then as a teaching assistant.

During my assistant period I participated in organizing and conducting classes on the following subjects: Fluid mechanics, Heat and mass transfer, Turbomachines I, Pumps, fans and turbo compressors, Piping lines, Design of power plants, Turbines, Heating and ventilation.

From October 2009 to January 2015, I was employed at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Podgorica as assistant professor on the following subjects: Pumps, fans and turbo compressors, Turbines, Design of power plants, Hydro power plants.

From January 2015 until today I am employed at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Podgorica as an associate professor in the following subjects: Pumps, fans and turbo compressors, Turbines, Design of power plants, Hydro power plants.

I participated and still participate in the realization of the following scientific-research projects:

  • “Measurements of the flow fields characteristics in high pressure conditions” (scientific and technological cooperation between governments of Slovenia and Montenegro; 2006-2008.)
  • “Measurements of the flow fields characteristics in high pressure conditions” (project financed by Ministry of education and science of Montenegro; 2006-2008.)
  • “Measurements of characteristics of turbulent flow fields in pipes and ducts” (project financed by Ministry of education and science of Montenegro; 2008-2011.)
  • “Conecting Energy NCPs: A proactive network of National Contact Points in the Seventh Framework Programme under the Energy Theme, C-ENERGY” (project financed by EC; 2009-2010.)
  • “Measurements of turbulent flow characteristics in pipes and channels” (scientific and technological cooperation between governments of Slovenia and Montenegro; 2010-2011.)
  • Development of a small hydropower registry for Northern Montenegro (project financed by EBRD, 2011-2012)
  • “Investigations of transients in hydraulic and aeromechanical systems” (project financed by Ministry of science of Montenegro; 2012-2014.)

  • “Investigations of water hammer effects in a test facility” (scientific and technological cooperation between governments of Slovenia and Montenegro; 2012-2013.)
  • “Western Balkans regional energy efficiency programme (REEP), Policy dialogue – Supporting ESCO projects in the public sector, Legal assistance for an ESCO project enabling legal framework” (project financed by EBRD; 2013-2014.)
  • “Investigations of hydraulic transients during filling and emptying of pipelines” (scientific and technological cooperation between governments of Slovenia and Montenegro; 2014-2015)
  • “Western Balkans regional energy efficiency programme (REEP), Scoping study for Street Lighting Modernization Programme using ESCO approach in Montenegro, (project financed by EBRD; 2015)
  • „Investigation of the turbulent swirl flow influence on the energy parameters of the axial fans by using contemporary measurement techniques“. (scientific and technological cooperation between governments of Republic Serbia and Montenegro; 2016-2017)
  • Enhancement of Registry of Small Rivers for Small Hydropower Projects Potential of up to 10 MW in Montenegro, financed by EBRD. (project financed by EBRD; 2016-2018)
  • REady for BUSiness, Integrating and validating practical entrepreneurship skills in  engineering and ICT studies – REBUS, 573664-EPP-1-2016-BA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP, ERASMUS+. (2016-2019)
  • “Research and development of improved measures for protection of hydropower plants during hydraulic transients in order to increase their reliability and energy efficiency”. Scientific and technological cooperation between Governments of Republic Serbia and Montenegro.  (2019-2020)

My research work has resulted in the publication of works in international journals, as well as presentations at international and domestic scientific meetings.

As a scholar of the Slovenian Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, I attended professional training in Litostroj EI doo in the period January 2005 - March 2005.

In May 2007, I was selected by the Ministry of Education and Science as a national contact person for energy in the Seventh Framework Program of the European Union (Energy NCP) and I performed this duty by June 2012.

Since January 2009, I am a member of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research.

Since December 2009 I am a member of the Montenegrin Chamber of Engineers.

Since January 2012 I am a member of the CG KO CIGRE (Montenegrin Committee of the International Council for Large Electric Networks - CIGRE)

I have won the annual award of the Montenegrin Chamber of Engineers for the achieved results in the field of spatial planning and construction of facilities for 2013.

I have received the recognition of the University of Montenegro for the results achieved and contribute to the development of scientific research, art and professional work at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering for 2018.

I'm married, the father of two children.
