Biography and bibliography

 

Žarko Leković was born on September 26th 1965. in Priboj, where he graduated from elementary school, with excellent grades. High school, historical-archaeological course, he also graduated with excellent grades in Podgorica and he was awarded with the “Luca” diploma. He studied philosophy on University in Nikšić, on history and geography department. He graduated in 1994. (average grade from history was 9.00) and his graduated with his study ‘’Montenegro and Malisor insurrections’’. During 1995. and 1996. he was on goverments scholarship.

He graduated from postgraduate studies in Belgrade on Faculty of Philosophy with average grade of 9.00. His master dissertation ‘’ Drobnjak in the first half of the 19th century’’ he defended in 2000. in October in front of board made of: prof. dr Radoš Ljušić (mentor), prof. dr Mihailo Vojvodić and doc. dr Vojin Dabić.

His doctor dissertation „Drobnjak 1850-1918“ he defended in July in 2010. on Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade in front of board made of: dr Radoš Ljušić (mentor), dr Slavenko Terzić and doc. dr Miloš Jagodić.

In Historical Institute of Montenegro he has been working since 1th of May 1998. and his current position is Expert associate for national history of Montenegro in 19th and 20th century. He is also a  member of Scientific council of Historical Intitute of Montenegro, History department of Montenegrin academy of art and science, „Matica srpska“, and Council for social science of University of Montenegro. He is a member of editorial staff of international scientific magazine „Istorijski zapisi“, and also magazines „Na izvoru Vukova jezika“ and „Glasnik Zavičajnog muzeja Pljevlja“ and more of organisation boards of Anthologies of essays from international scientific conventions.

He participated in more than 70 native and international scientific conventions which were held in Montenegro, Serbia, Serbian Republic, Moldova, Russia and Germany.

He speaks fluent Russian, and uses Italian too.
