Biography - Ivanović Veselin

Veselin N. Ivanović (IEEE A’02–M’08–SM’12) was born in Cetinje, Montenegro, April 10, 1970. He received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, 1993, and the M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Montenegro, 1996. He received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the same university, 2001, in time-frequency signal analysis and architecture design for implementation of time-frequency methods and time-varying filtering. In 2001, he received the Siemens Award for scientific achievements in his Ph.D. research.

Since 1994, he has been at the Electrical Engineering Department, University of Montenegro, where he has been Assistant Professor within the period 2002–2007, Associate Professor within the period 2007–2012, and a Full Profesor since 2012. During the period of 2002–2006, he was Vice Dean at the Electrical Engineering Department, University of Montenegro. His current research interests are in the areas of Signal Processing, Time-Frequency Signal Analysis, Design of the Special Purpose Architectures for Signal Processing, Hardware/software Co-design, Computer Organization and Design, and Design with Microcontrollers.

Prof Ivanović received the “Best Student of the Master Study in EE” award from the Electrical Engineering Department, University of Montenegro. He also received the highest award of Old Royal Capital Cetinje, for scientific achievements. He was a member of research group that received a research award grant for 2001 to 2003 from the Volkswagen Foundation, Federal Republic of Germany. He was a member of the scientific committees of some international conferences. He is reviewer in a number of the world leading journals in signal processing area, including IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, Signal Processing (Elsevier), and AEUE – International Journal of Electronics and Telecommunications. In 2016., in august issue, Electronics Letters, one of the most prestigious international journals in the Electrical Engineering area, published, on the front page, an interview with sa Prof Ivanović. In this way, this prestigious jounal decided to additionaly inform international scientific community with Prof. Ivanović and his research in the area of designing of the completely pipelined architectures used in the highly nonstationary signals estimation.

Prof Ivanović is a member of the IEEE, since 2002., and EURASIP, since 2007. Since September 2011. he is Senior Member of the IEEE.
