Biography - Marković Vedrana

Vedrana Markovic (1975) was born in Split (Croatia). She graduated from the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, PhD (2015). She has been an employee of the Music Academy in Cetinje as an Assistant Professor ever since 2009. She participates actively in scientific gatherings in Montenegro and abroad. So far, she has published monograph Početna nastava solfeđa u radu sa učenicima oštećenog vida  (Initial Teaching of Solfeggio Intended for Students with Visual Impairment), exercises for solfeggio class, the book sets for the first and second grades of music school Muzički koraci 1 (Music steps 1) and  Muzički koraci 2 (Music steps 2), textbook for the grammar school Muzika moj jezik (Music as My Language, coauthor) and around thirty studies. She has been hired by the Institute for Textbooks and Teaching Aids Podgorica as an expert consultant, reviewer and editor of several publications. She is the member of the editorial committee of the magazine Accelerando: Belgrade Journal of Music and Dance and is hired as reviewer of the magazine Artefact. She is the author of accredited programs of professional development of teachers in the Bureau for Education Services of Montenegro. She is one of the founders of the event Solfest Herceg Novi which is aimed at a greater affirmation of solfeggio as a basic course at all levels of music education, and  promotion of successful students and their teachers. She is the artistic supervisor of the vocal ensemble Ad libitum which is consisted of the Music Academy students. Special area of interest represents music education of children with visual impairment, so does implementation of examples from Montenegrin music heritage in music education, especially in solfeggio teaching.
