Biography - Ćulafić Goran

Biography - Ćulafić Goran

Prof. dr Goran Ćulafić, full professor, is born on May 10, 1952. in Belgrade. He finished his eight-year school in Ivangrad, and high school - Gymnasium in Titograd.

Culafić enrolled in mechanical engineering studies in 1971/72. at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Titograd. He completed them after completing nine semesters and defended graduation thesis: "Designing a single cantilever crane", 1976, in the direction of Mechanization. During his studies he was active in professional basketball in KK Budućnost - Podgorica.

He began his postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade in 1976 on the Mechanism and Machine Dynamics Group. At the same time he was hired as an assistant trainee at the Mechanisms at the Department of Mechanics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Titograd. In the 1980s, Ćulafić completed the third-degree study by defending his master's thesis "Analysis and synthesis of the deep-pulling presses, consisting of an articulated quadrilateral and adding a dia-dide with an external sliding pair", which was supervised by prof. T.Pantelić. In 1981, he was elected Assistant Professor.

The military term in JNA Ćulafić served in 1979/80. year, at the School of Reserve Officers-Technical Service in Zagreb.

During the 1982/83 study. He studied at Stanford and Berkeley University (USA - California) at the universities. Upon return from the USA in December 1984. Ćulafić defended his doctoral dissertation entitled: "The method of optimal synthesis of straight hemispheric mechanisms for the deviation curve defined by the technological process" at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade. The mentor was prof. Todor Pantelić.

He was elected Assistant Professor in 1987 for the subject of Mechanics, while on May 27, Elected as an associate professor for subjects: Mechanics and Synthesis of Mechanisms at the Department of Mechanics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Podgorica. He was elected as a regular professor on April 25, 1997. year.

As an assistant, Ćulafić held exercises from almost all subjects from the Department of Mechanics. He started independently at the school's 1985/86 school. on the subject Mechanics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Titograd. Since then, Ćulafić has held lectures at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Metallurgy in Podgorica and the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić from a number of subjects, as well as at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade, as part of classes at postgraduate studies in the Synthesis Mechanics course.

Goran Ćulafić is the author of over 80 scientific publications, professional projects of recognized patents and books. The focus of scientific research and professional work by Goran Ćulafić is in the applied mechanics of a rigid body. Several fields of work can be differentiated:

- development of new and application of existing methods of synthesis (design) mechanisms;

-modeling of mechanical constructions in the first place from the aspect of the dynamics of their work;

-primary method of non-linear programming (optimization) in the design and modeling of mechanical systems;

- creation of application software in the field of applied mechanics and analysis and modeling of mechanical systems.

The essence of scientific research is given in the books:

-MEHANISMS - SYNTHESIS OF MECHANISMS, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade, 1986. years.

- MODELING OF MECHANISMS - ANALYSIS AND OPTIMAL SYNTHESIS, "Slog", 1997.

The characteristic of the scientific research work of Goran Ćulafić is that a large part of the same is applied in practice on concrete problems. That resulted in patent and model applications, prototypes, technical improvements as well as improvements and innovations in individual constructions, application software, studies, studies, etc.

In the period from 2002 to 2007, Goran Ćulafić was a vice-dean for teaching at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Montenegro. From 2007 - 2013 he has been a Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
