Biography - Janković Srđan

I was born on July 2, 1963 in Bar, from father Janko and mother Verica born Babovic. Elementary and High school I was finished in Podgorica. At the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University "Veljko Vlahovic" in Titograd, I enrolled in the school year 1981/82 when I went to the military service. I graduated in July 1987 in the Structure department at Prof. Dr Miodrag Sekulović with a grade of 10 and an average grade of 8.20 during the study.

In school year 1988/89 I enrolled in postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Belgrade, Department of Concrete Structures. The average score for postgraduate studies was 9.92. During attending postgraduate studies in 1988 and 1989 I worked in the design office of the company "Ivan Milutinovic" in Belgrade as an associate in the structure design. From 1990 to 1994 I worked in the company "Lovćeninvest" DD Podgorica, as the head of the construction of the facility housing estate Malo Brdo Podgorica. At the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Podgorica I moved in 1994 where I was engaged as an teaching assistant in the subjects: Concrete Structures I, Concrete Structures II, Structure materials, Bridges and Earthquake resistance design. MSc thesis with title: "The behavior of reinforced concrete structures under the earthquake and its correlation with the seismic regulations" that was done under the supervision of Prof. Dr Mirko Acic, I defended in July 1996. From 1997 I was hired to the position of assistant in the subjects: Design and construction of concrete structures, Seismic design, and Fundamentals of seismic planning and design. PhD thesis entitled "Probabilistic seismic analysis of reinforced concrete frame structures", which was formally applied in May 2002 at Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Montenegro in Podgorica and I successfully defended in January 2004. Mentor of the doctoral thesis was Prof. Dr. Bozidar Stojadinovic of the California University in Berkeley, USA and co-mentor was Prof. Dr. Mladen Ulićević from the Civil Engineering Faculty in Podgorica.

I am author of a many scientific research papers in the field of earthquake engineering. As a responsible designer, I took part in designing the structure of a large number of buildings and two bridges on the highway Bar-Boljare. Currently I am the President of Montenegrin Association for Earthquake Engineering.

In 2015 I wrote a book Fundamentals of seismic planning and design for civil engineers and architects, which is accepted as a university textbook.

I am married and father of two children.
