Biography - Mrdak-Mićović Milena

Milena Mrdak- Mićović, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Philology, University of Montenegro, where she has been working for the past fifteen years. She is, currently, teaching Translation from English into Montenegrin, Discourse Analysis, as well as English for Specific Purposes. Her main research interests lie in the field of discourse analysis and pragmatics.

Milena Mrdak- Mićović was born in 1977 in Nikšić (Montenegro), where she attended elementary school and grammar school. In 2002 she graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić (Montenegro). Ms. Mrdak- Mićović enrolled master studies in 2003 at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Belgrade (Department of Linguistics) and she graduated in 2008, having defended the master thesis entitled Modal Meanings of the Verbs THINK and BELIEVE and their Equivalents in the Serbian Language. She received her PhD from the Faculty of Philology (Linguistics) in 2016 (the dissertation title: Metadiscourse Analysis of the Forms of Politeness in English and Montenegrin ).

Ms. Mrdak- Mićović is interested in pragmatics, discourse analysis, analysis of conversations, contrastive analysis, critical discourse analysis, genre analysis and sociolinguistics.
