Biography

Dr Milena Cojić was born in 1981, in Podgorica where she finished elementary and high school as an excellent student and winner of the "Luča" diploma. Graduated at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade in February, 2009. She started four-year family medicine residency at the Medical faculty in Podgorica, in 2013 and passed certification exam in February 2017 with exellent mark. She enrolled Doctoral Academic Studies at the Medical Faculty of the University of Niš (school year 2013/2014), passed all the envisaged exams with great success and currently preparing her doctoral thesis: "The effects of vitamin D supplementation on glycaemic control and oxidative stress markers in type 2 diabetes patients treated with metformin".

She also finshed school for meta-analysis in London, 2016.

As a member of the Scientific Committees, she participated in the work of the Congress in the field of family medicine in the country and the region. As a member of the working group, she participated in the development of guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of acute uncomplicated urinary tract infections in adult patients in primary care.

As a family doctor, she has been practicing in the Primary Health Care Center in Podgorica since 2009. Started as teaching assistant at Faculty of Medicine in Podgorica for family medicine in 2015, and since 2017, has associated in teaching for family and general medicine courses.

Vice President of the Association of general and family medicine of Montenegro and national representative of Montenegro at the European Academy of Teachers General Family Medicine (EURACT), as well as the national representative of Montenegro at the European primary care cardiovascular society (European Cardiovascular Association).
