The Institute for Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Studies (IIMS) was established as a separate organizational unit of the University of Montenegro in July 2024.

MISSION

IIMS was founded to enhance the competitiveness of the University of Montenegro in education, scientific research, artistic creation, and innovation. By supporting and implementing undergraduate, masters, and doctoral studies, as well as applied and developmental research, IIMS aims to contribute to scientific excellence and strengthen research teams by connecting different disciplines and resources.

VISION

Our vision is for IIMS to become a leading scientific research institution, relying on:

Multidisciplinarity

IIMS fosters a multidisciplinary approach to science and research, enabling experts from different fields to collaborate on the same problem while maintaining their respective methods and perspectives. The focus is on parallel contributions, where various scientific fields help improve the understanding of complex issues without necessarily merging their frameworks.

Interdisciplinarity

IIMS encourages an interdisciplinary approach in research by integrating knowledge, methods, and theories from different scientific fields to achieve a deeper understanding and resolution of complex problems.
