International Coorporation

The Historical Institute of the University of Montenegro engages in scientific and artistic collaboration with numerous research institutions in the region and the broader international community. This includes formally defined relationships through the signing of memorandums, protocols, or cooperation agreements, such as:

  • Memorandum of Cooperation between the Institute of National History of Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje and the Historical Institute of the University of Montenegro, June 20, 2024.
  • Protocol on Scientific Cooperation between the Historical Institute of the University of Montenegro and the Historical Institute in Belgrade, February 23, 2024.
  • Memorandum of Cooperation between the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (Leibniz-Institut für Ost- und Südosteuropaforschung) and the Historical Institute of the University of Montenegro, September 14, 2021.
  • Memorandum of Cooperation between the National Museum of Photography Marubi of the Republic of Albania and the Historical Institute of the University of Montenegro, February 10, 2021.
  • Agreement on Cooperation between Tula State University (Tulьskiй gosudarstvennый universitet, TulGU) and the Historical Institute of the University of Montenegro, April 25, 2014.
  • Agreement on Cooperation between the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education "State Academy of Slavic Culture" and the Historical Institute of the University of Montenegro, April 8, 2014.
  • Agreement on Cooperation between the Institute of National Remembrance in Warsaw and the Historical Institute of the University of Montenegro, May 10, 2012.
  • Agreement on Cooperation between the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution "Archive of the Russian Academy of Sciences" (Arhiv RAN) and the Historical Institute of the University of Montenegro, November 1, 2019.
  • Agreement on Cooperation between the St. Petersburg Institute of History of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPbIH) and the Historical Institute of the University of Montenegro, April 16, 2019.
  • Agreement on Cooperation between the Centre for Southeast European Studies, University of Graz, and the Historical Institute of the University of Montenegro, December 13, 2018.
  • Agreement on Academic Cooperation between the Spatial Humanities and Place Computation Laboratory at the School of Architecture, Tianjin University, and the Historical Institute of the University of Montenegro, October 8, 2018.

In addition, international collaboration is also achieved through the international editorial board of the journal Istorijski zapisi. The most recent members include:

  • Prof. Dr. Gideon Greif, visiting lecturer in Jewish and Israeli history at the Schusterman Center for Jewish Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, as well as at universities in Australia, Estonia, Israel, Lithuania, Germany, New Zealand, and Poland.
  • Prof. Dr. Hatice Oruç, Deputy Director of the Department of History at the University of Ankara.
  • Prof. Dr. Dejan Jović, Full Professor at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Zagreb, and Editor-in-Chief of Politička misao (Croatian Political Science Review).
  • Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Rastović, Director of the Historical Institute in Belgrade, Serbia.
  • Dr. Mitko Panov, Director of the Institute of National History, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje.
