The History Institute of University of Montenegro is pleased to invite you to a lecture that will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, starting at 10 a.m. in the Blue Hall of the UoM Rectorate building. The lecture entitled "Research on Intelligent Protection System of Built Cultural Heritage Based on Natural Disaster Monitoring, Early Warning and Prevention" will be held by Dr. Li Shuyi and Dr. Du Ke from Nanjing University, China.

Dr Li Shuyi is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Design, Art and Media, Nanjing University of Science and Technology. In July 2018, she received her doctorate in epistemology and history of science and technology at the University of Bourgogne Franche-Comté in France. Dr Ke Du is currently the Deputy Director of the Department of Data Science at China Pharmaceutical University. He holds a doctorate in computer science from the University of Burgundy Franche-Comté (UBFC) in France and a masters degree in electronic and communication engineering from the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) in China.

The lecture is part of the activities of the bilateral project Application of digital technologies in the research of regional cultural heritage, in which researchers from the Institute of History and the Faculty of Architecture of UCG and colleagues from Nanjing participate.

This project is a joint effort between the Historical Institute of UCG and the School of Design and Media at Nanjing University of Science and Technology, to enhance the field of cultural heritage preservation by integrating the most modern digital technologies. Focusing on the preservation and protection of historical sites and artefacts, the project aims to develop innovative methodologies for documenting, monitoring and predictive heritage maintenance using artificial intelligence (AI), big data analysis and virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR). By combining expertise from the Mediterranean and Chinese cultural contexts, the project aims to create a global model for sustainable heritage preservation, scalable and adaptable to different geographic regions.
