Professors of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education of the University of Montenegro conducted anthropometric testing of male cadet handball national team of Montenegro the day before the Mediterranean Championship that will be held from February 18th to 24th, 2019.

The team is on preparations in Podgorica, and testing will indicate metabolism performances before five matches that will be held within three days, followed by playing for placement.

Testing is conducted by Professor Dusko Bjelica, PhD, Jovan Gardasevic, MA and Ivan Vasiljevic, MA. Professors exchanged experiences with coach of the male handball representation, Brano Bozovic, the Director Drasko Mrvaljevic and trainer Milos Knezevic who were in charge for professional work of the handball national team.

‘Continuous diagnostics, planning and programing of training process are important for achieving excellent results. Great necessity for tracking trends of new technologies development and their achievements is detected in our country as well in the rest of the world, and anthropometric testing performed with Tanita scale beam contributes to the planning of individual training, both individual handball players and a whole team’, Professor Bjelica said.

Measuring performed by the Tanita scale beam implemented the analysis of metabolism parameters of handball players. Body composition of handball players in terms of structure, fat, muscular and bone mass content, as well as the value of skin folds on particular body segments are estimated within this fast and noninvasive method.
