A September Issue of the International Scientific Journal "Montenegrin Journal of Sports Science and Medicine" is Published

In the most recent issue of the “Montenegrin Journal of Sports Science and Medicine”, ten articles were published on September 1st, 2017. After the review conducted in the previous period, the September issue of the journal consists of works by authors from the USA, Slovenia, Portugal, Greece, Slovakia, New Zealand, Norway, Croatia, the Philippines and Turkey, or 10 countries and three continents.

Sandra Mandic, Hamish Wilson, Monika Clark-Grill and Diana O'Neill, in the work of the first group of authors from New Zealand under the title "Medical Students' Awareness of the Links between Physical Activity and Health”, deal with the attitude of medical students with connection between physical activity and health. In another paper in the new edition of the journal, titled "Characteristics of Professional and Non-Professional Football Players - An eight-year follow-up of three age cohorts" "Norwegian author Stig Arve Sæther compares the characteristics of professional and footballers who failed to achieve a professional career, from eight years ago, when they were at the same level of development. The third group of authors, composed of Klar Šiljeg, Joško Sindik and Goran Leko, who comes from Croatia, in their paper entitled "Swim Speed ​​Tests as a Method for Differentiating the Profiles of Young Swimmers", examine tests that can make a difference in the younger age of the swimmers. In the work of the fourth group of authors from Turkey titled "Examining Attitudes of Physical Education Teacher Education Program Students toward the Teaching Profession", Gunay Yildizer, Caner Ozboke, Ramazan Tascioglu and Ilker Yilmaz examine the attitudes of students who are educating themselves as professors of physical education on their future profession. In the fifth paper, entitled "A Comprehensive Mapping of High-Level Men's Volleyball Gameplay Through Social Network Analysis: Analyzing Serve, Side-Out, Side-Out Transition and Transition", Portuguese and Czech authors, Manuel Loureiro, Marta Hurst, Beatriz Valongo , Pantelis Nikolaidis, Lorenzo Laporta and José Afonso deal with technical elements in volleyball. In the work of the sixth group of authors from the Philippines, under the title "Common Injuries of Collegiate Tennis Players", Christian Wisdom Magtajas Valleser and Ken Ewing L. Narvas address issues of injuries in tennis. In the work of the seventh group of authors from Slovakia, entitled "Collaborative Learning with the Application of Screen-Based Technology in Physical Education," Gabriela Luptáková and Branislav Antala analyze the recognition of new technologies in physical education. Group of authors from the United States: Svetlana Nepocatych, Gytis Balilionis and Eric K. O'Neal discuss the nutrition and physical composition of the athletes after the end of the competition season in the work entitled "Analysis of the Dietary Intake and Body Composition of Female Athletes over a Competitive Season". In the work of the ninth group of authors from Slovenia under the heading "Common Running Overuse Injuries and Prevention", Žiga Kozinc and Nejc Šarabon deal with injuries among runners and propose certain preventive measures, while in the tenth paper entitled "Functional-Strengthening: A Pilot Study on Balance Control Improvement in Community-Dwelling Older Adults ", American authors, Micah D. Josephson and John G. Williams, analyze the causes of falls in a cumulative analysis and propose preventive measures.

Although the Journal "Montenegrin Journal of Sports Science and Medicine" achieved the greatest success in 2015 and 2016, when entered two of the strongest index databases ("Web of Science" and "Scopus"), the editorial board of the magazine believes that the milestone, that is, the point from which the Journal will continue to grow and develop further, was the entry into 2017, when the editorial board of the Journal was reformed, and a significant number of young people, representing a new driving force, were introduced, which will lead the Journal to the goal which is planned in the forthcoming five-year mandate period, i.e. to make it a solid leader in the region and recognized by all relevant authors in the field of sports science and medicine worldwide - said the editor-in-chief of the journal, Prof. Duško Bjelica.
