Multidisciplinary Studies for integrations and migrations through intercultural dialogue-Jean Monnet Module,  

 For study 2022–2023 year

The Faculty of Philology UMNE announces the first call for enrolment of the SECOND GENERATION of students into module Multidisciplinary studies on integrations and migrations through intracultural dialogue – EMIMI within the project Jean Monnet or ERASMUS+ EU program.   

The invitation is also open to all interested candidates who have completed the cycle of regular studies and are continuing with lifelong learning.

 

In the process of joining Montenegro to the European Union, migration and intercultural dialogue occupy a notable and important place. The main goals of the EMIMI module are for students of masters and specialist studies at the Faculty of Philology and Philosophy to acquire new knowledge and skills about the European process of integration, migration and intercultural dialogue, to understand the importance of adopting European values ​​as a key link in the democratic maturation of Montenegrin society, and to develop a critical attitude in relation to his own role in the whole process.

 

At the institutional level, the goal of the project is to promote multidisciplinary research, innovation, establishing a connection between research and society through a proactive role at the local, national and international level, and synergy and cooperation between different faculty units at the University of Montenegro.

 

The module will be implemented by a selected team of professors from the Faculty of Philology, Philosophy, Economics and the Faculty of Political Sciences.

 

The call is announced for masters, specialist, and third-year undergraduate students of the University of Montenegro.

 

Call is open for all interested candidates who finished the cycle of undergraduate studies and continue with lifelong learning.

The module will be implemented by a selected team of professors from the Faculty of Philology, Philosophy, Economics and the Faculty of Political Sciences. Attending the EMIMI module will enable students to acquire new knowledge and skills:1) European labor law;2) EU tax and budget law;3) roles and importance of key EU institutions;4) historical cross-section of migratory movements in Montenegro and intercultural dialogue;5) creation, processing and perception of public exchange in the EU;6) financial market and economic migrations;7) the intersection of ideas and advocacy for the creation of a common European cultural space, the Francophile ties of France and Montenegro, the positive influence of the Montenegrin francophone diaspora on the process of European integration in our country;8) importance of the linguistic and traductological aspects of European integration;9) basics of critical discourse analysis and the influence of political and media discourse on the creation of ideologies.

 

Attending the module will enable students to: • understand the context of the European Union, especially with regard to common values, principles of unity and diversity, as well as awareness of European cultural identity and historical heritage, • understand the importance and advantages of adopting European values ​​for the democratic development of Montenegrin society, • build the necessary degree of empathy in dealing with the problems of migrants and their integration into a society of equal opportunities,• value innovative learning and teaching practices, as a response to social challenges, supporting the promotion of non-formal forms of education, extracurricular activities, volunteering and civic activism in their own academic success. The proposed module consists of nine thematic units, which will be implemented once, or exceptionally, if necessary, twice a week, within two-hour blocks during the winter and summer semesters of the academic year 2022-2023. Lectures are held at the Faculty of Philology in Nikšić with a combined teaching model (blended learning/live and/or online). The module program is not accredited and does not provide for assessment. Refreshing the material and checking knowledge will be done through a questionnaire or in another way appropriate to the given subject.

 

Jean Monnet EMIMI module is supported by the European Union through the ERASMUS+ program, and co-financed by the UMNE.  

 

ENROLMENT CONDITIONS Masters, specialist, third-year undergraduate students of the University of Montenegro can enroll in the Jean Monet module Multidisciplinary studies on integration and migration through intercultural dialogue - EMIMI. The invitation is also open to all interested candidates who have completed the cycle of regular studies and are continuing with lifelong learning.
