Montenegrin Pioneer Basketball Team Tested

Today, professors of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education of the University of Montenegro anthropometrically measured basketball pioneers from Montenegro.  Namely, 24 selected boys attend the gathering in Tivat led by selector Zoran Marojevic, within mini preparations for international tournament i.e. unofficial European championship to be held in Slovenia.

Data on height of body, percentage of fat in the structure of basketball players’ body, percentage value of the muscle mass, bone mass and metabolism parameters are obtained within the measurement. Also, values of skin folds at particular body segments are measured.

‘Taking into account that basketball is the sport of ‘tall people’, values of particular morphological characteristics may be crucial in certain phases of selection in basketball. On the other hand, they may be helpful and disruptive factor in correct development of motor abilities in this age. For this reason, we consider this form of estimation of young athlete potentials significant’, Assistant Professor Milovan Ljubojevic said.

Mjerenje su obavili, pored doc. dr Milovana Ljubojevića i dr Jovan Gardašević i mr Ivan Vasiljević.

Next to Assistant Professor Milovan Ljubojevic, measurement was also conducted by Jovan Gardasevic, PhD and Ivan Vasiljevic, MSc.
