Snežana Kašćelan, Best Student of the Faculty of Philosophy for Study 2019/20 Year

Student of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Montenegro, Psychology Department, Snežana Kašćelan (10.00) is selected for the best student of her faculty for the current 2019/20 study year.

"This award presents for me validation that if you have love for something and you do your best you succeed in what you love and your effort and love will be recognized eventually. Such validation serves as motivation for future steps of professional improvement as a kind of confirmation of my capability and ability for success in the science and making the right decision for my studies", Snežana says.

She says that success and results are always followed by certain sacrifices. "Studies of psychology require constant work and dedication during the whole study year. In that sense there is less time and space for other activities, going outs, sport, social life… but with the right prioritization and good organization, everything is possible. Also I regret for not having time to read other literature that interesting for me", best student of the Faculty of Philosophy said.

Snežana thinks that practical courses are extremely import since students do research on their own, analyze and design their porotypes of ‘scientific work’. She says that on such coursers learnt technical things for writing paper as well as best path towards integrating different information.

"Such a concept of the course which, instead of passive data collection, encourages you to reconstruct on your own the existing knowledge and to rehearse own skills of thinking. Also, there are numerous workshops, voluntary actions, and seminars formed in the domain of relevant issues of psychology as science, and I think that engagement in activities as many as possible is necessary experience so to convey theoretical frames into the real life, real human problem. Practice is the key", she adds.

Snežana’s future goals are primarily based on finalization of bachelor studies as well as on potential desire to apply for some master programs that have been attracting her for a while. "The University in London, as well as University in Amsterdam have great conditions for master these. I hope I will manage to continue cycle of studies in some of these prestigious faculties", Snežana said.

She has for future colleagues the following words: "First of all, I would advise young generations to think twice before enrolling the studies, to think thoroughly and talk with themselves about their interests, what drives and awakens passion in them and not to allow external facts to influence their judgment. Still, if the opt for psychology I would like them to know that it is such a wonderful science being integral part of every aspect of human life, incessant source of knowledge and it may only noble their lives – help in interrelations with people as well in the relation with themselves.
