Faculty for Sport and Physical Education at the University of Montenegro: Practical classes of skiing on Bjelasica

The practical classes of the students of the study program Physical Culture and Healthy Lifestyles in Skiing and Winter Sports are realized this year in Bjelasica, organized by the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education of the University of Montenegro.

The Vice-Dean for Teaching at this Faculty docent Danilo Bojanić, PhD said that so far, second and third year students of this study program have had the opportunity to learn and improve skiing techniques at the most popular ski centers in Europe and the surrounding area.

“After Dolomites in Italy, Bansko in Bulgaria, Kopaonik and Jahorina, classes this year, due to the complex epidemiological situation, were organized in Bjelasica, in the ski center Kolašin 1450 and ski center Kolašin 1600, where we also had excellent working conditions", said Vice-Dean Bojanić.

After the five-day course of the first group of students, everyone, as Bojanic states, unanimously expressed satisfaction when it comes to the quality of teaching, safety, the way of organization and working conditions on the ski resort. After the course, students took the ski elements provided by the curriculum.

“Skiing is one of the most attractive recreational activities that establishes a balance of physical, mental and social health. A large number of students encounter skiing techniques and specific conditions that make this sport interesting, functional and fun for the first time in practical skiing classes. The teachers in charge of the training tried to present the models and structures of certain ski elements in the most efficient and rational way, with unavoidable methods ", explains Vice-Dean Bojanić.

With practical ski training, students acquire the knowledge necessary for practical work in educational institutions, sports schools, ski schools that are popular today with the younger generations.
