Scientific Conference Place of Knowledge Mobilization
"Transformation Processes in Sport - Sport Performance" is an extraordinary scientific conference because it brings together experts from all over the world to share their experiences and knowledge at the University of Montenegro, which is the first step in the internationalization and mobilization of knowledge - rated in an interview for web portal of the University of Montenegro, Prof. Robert C. Schneider from the State University of New York (SUNY).
"The conference is very good. I'm impressed. I exhibited at conferences in more than 25 countries around the world and I have never encountered better one than this one. It is very well organized, scientifically focused, students are eager and committed to learn, and sessions provide scientific information that are diverse and provide a comprehensive approach to physical education, kinesiology, and even sports management “- he explained.
Speaking about the transfer of scientific knowledge into practice, Professor Schneider said that he believes that one of the important facts is that Conference provides a scientific approach to practice through the work of trainers, instructors.
"When scientists support what practitioners do, that increases the level of performance considering practical work. In the United States we are working now on a lot of sports analytics. This becomes highly scientific process during which we analyze every aspect of the competition, and I see that this approach applies to this conference, "he added.
Professor Schneider was pleased that conference participants could discuss about sports management as a very important element of modern sport, explaining that the key to good management is in linking different disciplines or fields, regardless of whether they are in management in sport, education or business.
He was impressed that more than 100 students of master's and doctoral studies from the University of Montenegro and regional universities attended the Conference.
"I saw a lot of students at the conference and what I was impressed me are the questions that were asked. It is clear that they have a lot of knowledge. Their presentations and the questions posed can only contribute to the spread of knowledge. When they return to their home University or in clubs, I believe that they will talk with their colleagues about acquired knowledge, apply it and expand it." Schneider said.
He said that it is impressive that 23 countries from four continents were present at the conference.
"This is the first step towards including the mobility factor. Let me repeat, there are scholars and experts gathered from around the world who share their knowledge in one place - the University of Montenegro - which is the first step in internationalization and mobilization of knowledge - said Schneider.
Fourteenth International Scientific Conference "Transformation Processes in Sport - Sport Performance, was organized in Budva from 31 March to 2 April. Organizers, Faculty for Sport and Physical Education, University of Montenegro and Montenegrin Sports Academy, had over 200 participants at the Conference.
