Opening Ceremony of the Olympics of Knowledge on May 10th

Official opening ceremony of the Olympics of Knowledge 2025, a competition for primary and secondary school students of Montenegro in mathematics, natural sciences, and programming, will be held on May 10, starting at 11:00 AM, at the Technical Faculties building of the University of Montenegro in Podgorica.

The event is organized by the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Montenegro and the Society of Mathematicians and Physicists of Montenegro, with the support of the Rector of the University of Montenegro, the company doMEn, and the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts (CANU). The competition aims to promote the natural and mathematical sciences, recognizing the importance of continuously encouraging gifted students to develop and demonstrate their talents.

The competitions in mathematics, physics, biology, and chemistry will be held on Saturday, May 10, starting at 11:30 AM, while the programming competition will take place on Friday, May 16, also starting at 11:30 AM.

Students will compete across several categories: for mathematics, there will be seven categories (students of 7th, 8th, and 9th grades of primary school and all grades of secondary school); for physics, biology, and chemistry, there will be six categories (students of 8th and 9th grades of primary school and all grades of secondary school); while for programming, there will be two categories — one for primary school students and one for secondary school students. The chemistry competition is co-organized with the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology of the University of Montenegro.

The focus in preparing the competition tasks was placed on the curriculum of the current academic year, with the expectation that participants are also familiar with material from previous years. Secondary school students will compete according to the gymnasium (general secondary school) program.
