Survey - Research of Attitude of Students of the University of Montenegro on Soft Skills

Dear Colleagues,

Researchers from the Faculty of Economics are conducting research aimed at examining the relationship of the Montenegrin labor market to soft skills.

This research is very important because latest labor market analyses have shown that employers value and look for candidates who have an improved set of soft skills compared to candidates who did not work on improving these skills, but have a high average grade in studies and a large number of trainings. Employers believe that soft skills are key to success in doing business and raising a business culture, which in itself is key to a company’s success.

In order to enable all students to have an equal opportunity to participate in the research, we have prepared an online survey which you can access via the following link: https://www.kerdoivem.hu/kerdoiv/1137063849/

Your views and assessments that you make to our annex will be anonymous.

Soft skills, also known as non-cognitive skills, represent a set of all traits, ie character traits that each of us possesses, which determine the way we think, feel and the way we behave. Soft skills determine our reaction in a certain situation, our attitudes, as well as the possibility and quality of interaction with other people. Unlike cognitive or technical skills, which are acquired through formal education, soft skills cannot be measured or easily improved. They can be developed and improved throughout life, but it requires a strong personal motivation and great effort, because in fact the development of soft skills changes the patterns of behavior and personality traits of the individual.

The research will be conducted in two phases. The focus of the first phase of research is on you, the students, and we want to find out which soft skills you have, whether you think soft skills are important to your current and future employers, whether it is important for you to improve these skills, and other topics relating to your attitude about soft skills. In the second phase of the research, we examine the opinion on the soft skills of employers in the Montenegrin labor market. This research is part of a project led by a team of researchers from the Business School of the University of Applied Studies in Budapest, and in addition to the Faculty of Economics from the University of Montenegro, the Faculty of Economics from Skopje Tirana, the Faculty of Philology from the University of Gdansk, the Faculty of Economics in Subotica from the University of Novi Sad and the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences from the Democratic University of Izmir. For additional information or clarifications you can contact us at the e-mail address: tamara.backovic@ucg.ac.me
