Radojević to students of the Faculty of Economics: be proactive and create your own opportunities for success

Continuous development is the key to success. Regardless of where you start your career, it is essential to dedicate yourself to growth and the creation of new skills in every position. Only by doing so can you build a stable and successful professional path, emphasized Velimir Radojević, Director of Coca-Cola HBC Montenegro, during his lecture "Sales as a Superpower: Skills That Build Success," delivered to students of the Faculty of Economics, University of Montenegro.

The lecture was organized as part of the eighth season of the initiative Coca-Cola Youth Empowerment in collaboration with the European Youth Card (EYCA) team and the Faculty of Economics, commemorating International Students Day. The event was also part of the Soft Skills Academy, hosted by the Faculty of Economics.

Radojević, an alumnus of the Faculty of Economics, shared his career journey with a packed audience, highlighting his progression from a business development role to his current position as Director of Coca-Cola HBC Montenegro. He candidly discussed the challenges he faced in key sales positions and encouraged students to be proactive and seize opportunities.

"Reaching a certain position or level is achievable with persistence and a clearly defined goal. Never give up on that goal. Every work experience, even during your studies, will serve as an additional ticket for your growth and career development, leading to significant positions in sales. To achieve your goal, first, define it clearly. Don’t wait for opportunities to come to you – be the one to seize them," Radojević advised.

Introducing the speaker, Assistant Professor Dr. Tamara Backović emphasized that through events organized under the Soft Skills Academy, the Faculty of Economics aims to give its students firsthand insights into how theoretical knowledge can be transformed into practical competencies and how acquired skills can lead to success in the job market.

"Your presence here is proof that you are ready to invest in yourself and your education. Make the most of the opportunities available to you, as success is the result of continuous learning, effort, and readiness to take the initiative. Thank you to everyone who attended and made this event unforgettable!" said Professor Backović.

The lecture concluded with the message that people are the key to every successful system, accompanied by advice to young individuals to approach every job with dedication and integrity, regardless of the field.

The Soft Skills Academy is supported by the Erasmus+ project ME Study in English, the first coordinated project by the Faculty of Economics.
