Promotion of the monograph Faculty of Dramatic Arts 1994-2024 / Rectorate of UCG / Blue Hall / Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 11 AM

The Faculty of Dramatic Arts at the University of Montenegro will present its monograph “Faculty of Dramatic Arts 1994-2024” on Thursday, October 24, at the Rectorate of the University of Montenegro, at 11:00 AM.
The monograph, told through sixteen segments, narrates the story of the faculty’s development. It serves as an academic, educational, artistic, and cultural portfolio of the faculty from its founding to the present day. The introductory section is signed by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Edin Jašarović, and following a review of the key timeline of study programs from the establishment of the Acting program in 1994 to the present (Timeline), the monograph includes a series of authored texts by professors of core professional-artistic subjects forming the basis of FDU study programs. These texts include contributions from Prof. Dubravka Drakić (Acting), Prof. Radmila Vojvodić (Theater Directing), Prof. Dr. Nikola Vukčević and Prof. Marija Perović (Film and TV Directing), Prof. Janko Ljumović (Theater Production), Prof. Sehad Čekić (Film Production), Prof. Dr. Vuk Vuković (Audiovisual Production), Assistant Professor Aleksandar Radunović (Dramaturgy), and Assistant Professor Jovana Bojović (Screenwriting).
The chapter FDU on the Repertoire presents a selection of exam and graduation plays and films, as well as the faculty’s participation in festivals in the country and abroad, along with awards received by students. It also maps summer workshop projects, cultural and artistic programs, and conferences organized by the faculty. Following this are the chapters “Collaboration Map” and “Publishing Activities”. The monograph also includes a chapter titled “Alumni – A Memory Diary”, featuring essays by alumni: actors Jelena Đokić, Kristina Obradović, Jelena Simić, Momčilo Otašević, and Emir Ćatović; theater directors Lidija Dedović and Zoran Rakočević; film directors Nemanja Bečanović, Dušan Kasalica, and Gojko Berkuljan; producers Zorana Kralj, Ana Medigović, Nemanja Popović, and Miljan Vučelić; and dramaturgs and screenwriters Stefan Bošković, Stela Mišković, and Ana Vujadinović Tomić. The monograph concludes with reviews of graduates, teachers, and associates over the thirty years of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts’ work.
The editorial board of the monograph consisted of Janko Ljumović (chief editor), Edin Jašarović, Prof. Dr. Nikola Vučević, Prof. Dubravka Drakić, Assistant Professor Dr. Sara Vujošević Jovanović, and Assistant Professor Jovana Bojović. The graphic design was created by Sandra Đurović. In addition to archival fonds of the faculty and cultural institutions, the photographs were provided by Duško Miljanić. The translation of the introductory chapters into English was done by Dr. Olivera Kusovac, with proofreading by Katarina Milonjić.
The introductory section of the monograph emphasizes that it is a collection of highlighted experiences and memories, capturing some of the most significant events and extraordinary artistic biographies of the students and bibliographical editions, along with the network and map of collaborations developed by the faculty. The monograph also serves as a reminder of the most subtle experiences of the students, following their initial encounters with their colleagues in classes on acting, directing, production, and dramaturgy.
