On the occasion of the University of Montenegro Day and International Dance Day, both celebrated on April 29th, students of the Faculty of Drama Arts created a dance video card, which is also a message of support and gratitude to all colleagues - professors and students, for their demonstrated seriousness and persistence in their work in specific conditions caused by the virus coronary pandemic.

The work of Acting students, entitled Dance at Home, came about at the time when they wondered if it was possible to conduct an online colloquium on the subject of Dance. At the suggestion of prof. Sanja Garić, professor of Dance and Dean of the Faculty of Drama Arts, with the aim of trying to overcome obstacles caused by self-isolation, decided to embark on the creation of a joint project, despite numerous limitations, such as lack of space, group work and inability to use the usual way receive guidance and corrections from mentors.

"During this specific creative process, students learned something new about the creation of the choreography as well as the recording of the dance, but from the pedagogical aspect of working with future artists, the primary idea here was to encourage them to understand that they were living. in contingencies, you need to adapt to the circumstances - if you do not have the conditions to do what you want, do not give up, but look at what you have and what you can do.Try It is never known, as a result, you may even get more and better than you originally intended, ” Sanja Garić, Dean of the Faculty of Drama Arts said.

Aware of the gravity of the situation and grateful to health care professionals and all other people who put their health at risk daily, she adds, Acting students follow the measures prescribed to prevent the spread of the virus corona, knowing that they should be happy that their student responsibilities can, to the fullest extent possible. to perform online and thus remain safe.

Dance associate Julija Milacic Petrovic Njegos says that a change in lifestyle and the need for shared creativity, which they are used to daily and all day, has affected some of the students and resulted in a decline in energy.

"Professor Sanja shared with me the idea of a collaborative project that could help them overcome this and further motivate them. The students and I welcomed the idea with joy and it really served as a great form of encouragement as well as learning to master the seeming unmanageable,” the associate says.  Acting student and participant in this project, Una Lucic, says that through this choreography, they have once again felt the spirit of shared creativity, which they lacked so much in their work on the subject of Dance. "Professor Garic told us: Create. You have a theme - it has emerged. Turn obstacles into a creative challenge. Play what is happening to you now, what you are currently feeling. Express what is inside you - how you tolerate self-isolation. Play that need for Reunite. Connect with each other in this way - with your dance and the emotions you express with it. Use the conditions you have - a square meter in the room, or a terrace, the courtyard ... You are quarantined but your creativity is not. Dance home! " student Lucic says. Her colleague, Aleksa Balevic, is equally pleased to describe this additional task in the Dance course as well as its results:"This choreography has given us the opportunity to express, through dance, play and body language, the state, feelings and thoughts we nurture and develop in these days of self-isolation. 'Play! Don't stop dancing, whatever happens!' - our wonderful educators Sanja and Julia have always told us. That's what we did, we turned our nooks and crannies into a scene and played on it. With this we again felt the teamwork and spirit of the results of working together. Our creativity will never be in isolation. Unleash your feelings, indulge in music and dance! "
