President of Students of the Faculty for Sport and Physical Education: Professors and Associates Do a Phenomenal Job, We Adjusted Fast

Students of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education of the University of Montenegro follow online lectures and presentations according to plan, but due to the extraordinary circumstances caused by the COVID 19 virus, practical activities are a problem, says the President of the Students of this Faculty and teaching assistant, Pavle Malovic.

"The whole team, both professors and associates, are doing a phenomenal job, as well as everything in their power so that our students are not harmed in any segment of the education process. We quickly adapted to the changed way of working," Malovic said.

The best form of communication with students, he believes, is through the Zoom application, because communication flows in real time. Students can follow the lecture and ask questions side by side if they have ambiguities. "It is more practical to communicate in this way rather than by presenting presentations and then clarifying ambiguities by email," he said.

He added that it was good for students to become familiar with the online conference mode, using platforms supported by the University of Montenegro and the Center for Information System, to expand the range of their abilities.

"It will certainly benefit them in pursuing their academic careers. However, bearing in mind the nature of our profession, the practical teaching is an integral part of the curriculum, which in the new circumstances could be characterized as a disadvantage”, Malovic points out.

The practical part of the classes will be replaced, he adds, by video tutorials that will help students are prepared once the danger of the virus passes.

As President of Students and Associate in Teaching, Pavle Malovic actively participates in informing students through representatives elected for the Student Council of the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education, as well as in preparing and delivering teaching materials in the subjects in which he is engaged as an associate.

He states that, in these circumstances, he finds it most difficult that physical activity is reduced to a minimum and that the practical part of teaching cannot be carried out in the manner prescribed by the curriculum.

"When the activities for which I am engaged in the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education are completed, I spend time reading books and scientific research papers, preparing my doctoral dissertation. Given that humans are social beings, it is difficult to be physically isolated from those who mean to us. This situation has slowed down the pace of life, which has been extremely fast lately, so I spend my precious time with my family,” Malovic reports.

However, he tells his colleagues that this is a time when they can work on all those shortcomings that they always had an excuse for not having the time:

"Train yourself, think positively, exercise ... And primarily, follow the measures imposed by the Government of Montenegro and the National Coordination Body. Stay home! "
