International scientific conference „History of Education as a Scientific Pedagogical Discipline and a Teaching Subject – Past, Present and Perspectives”


































In the organization of the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić, at the Pedagogy Study Programme  was held 25-26 June 2019 International scientific conference on the topic „History of Education as a Scientific Pedagogical Discipline and a Teaching Subject – Past, Present and Perspectives”.

Conference was held in honour of the 130th anniversary of History of Pedagogy as a teaching subject in Montenegro and 15th anniversary of the Pedagogy Study Programme at the University of Montenegro.

A Book of abstracts of works by participants in the conference from 16 countries was published, among which the most prominent historians of the pedagogy of their countries, some are former rectors, current vice-rectors, deans, vice-deans, heads of study programs, members of national academies of sciences, etc.

Participants of the conference were welcomed by Smiljana Prelević (Secretary of the Ministry of Science), academician Slobodan Backović (Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts) and Danilo Nikolić (rector of the University of Montenegro), after which Goran Barović (Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Montenegro) and Vučina Zorić, PhD (Head of the Pedagogy Study Programme ) opened the conference.

The Conference is realized with the support of the University of Montenegro, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts, as well as the donations of EPCG A. D. Nikšić, Trebjesa Breweries in Nikšić, CKB (the business unit in Nikšić), the Tourist Organization of the City of Nikšić and the Tourist Organization of the City of Bar.

At the end of the first day, for the participants of the conference held a concert of Bojana Marković and Slobodan Bogdanović at the Castle of King Nikola in Nikšić. We express great gratitude to Jelena Đukanovic and Renat Bulajić, to the administrations and staff of the institutions "Castle of King Nikola - Homeland Museum" and the National Library "Njegoš" in Nikšić for help in holding the concert. During the larger part of the second day of the conference, the participants were on a trip during which they visited the Biljarda and King Nikola's Castle in Cetinje, followed by Kotor, the Island of The  Lady of Rocks and Perast, after which a final discussion on the results of the work and closing of the conference took place.
