The second generation of two-year masters students in the Business Law department began with lectures in the second year of the program within the Jean Monnet Module in Law of the EU Internal Market - MLEUIM project, which include subjects related to the interaction of the provisions of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, which guarantee four basic freedoms of the internal market with the right to protect the environment of the EU, the Charter of the European Union on Fundamental Rights, as well as consumer protection rules in the law of the internal market.

Students in the Business Law Clinic have the opportunity to hear about the balancing of fundamental rights and fundamental freedoms, but also the opportunity to get into the dilemmas of conflicting jurisdictions of the European Court of Human Rights and the European Court of Justice.

Within the Consumer Protection Law, fundamental principles of the EU law on consumer protection, product safety and producer responsibility are dealt with, as well as consumer protection modalities against unfair contractual terms and unfair business practices.

Lectures on environmental protection address issues such as the procedures for developing and adopting environmental policies and strategic assessments of environmental impact, and the topics of sustainable development, environmental responsibility and public participation in environmental decision-making are especially addressed.

Since during this academic year students of two-year masters studies are writing their masters thesis, some of them have already started the process of selecting and defining topics in consultation with their professors/mentors from the Jean Monnet module.

Within the MLEUIM project, at least ten masters theses with topics directly related to EU internal market law are planned, and the first generation of students who attended the MLEUIM program are successfully completing their masters theses, whose defenses are expected by the end of the calendar year after which works will be available on the MLEUIM project website, in cooperation with the authors. The project is supported within the Jean Monnet Programme, under the Erasmus+ program of the Education, Audiovisual Arts and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) and will last for three years.
