Final year students from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Montenegro—Sara Stijepović, Irina Kusovac, Ognjen Mandić, and Marko Jovanović—designed a garden and pavilion named “LUDIS IN SALE” under the subtheme "Childhood Games" for Montenegros presentation at the 13th International Horticultural Exhibition in Nantes, France.

The project was carried out as a regular task for the courses Ground Architecture, led by Prof. Dr. Svetlana Perović, and Architectural Workshop, led by Assistant Prof. Dr. Ema Alihodžić Jašarović, along with collaborators Assistant Prof. Dr. Sanja Savić, Dr. Jelena Bajić Šestović, Dr. Nevena Mašanović, and MSc Nemanja Milićević.

The initiative for the project was launched by the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Prof. Dr. Svetlana Perović, following an invitation from the organizers in France, due to the excellent results achieved at the previous years international exhibition in Kahramanmaraş, Turkey, where the Montenegrin pavilion won the second prize for design under her leadership.

The professors and students will construct the pavilion in Nantes from May 11 to 16, 2024, with the official opening of the exhibition scheduled for this period. The exhibition will remain open until May 26, 2024. As part of Montenegros presentation, a catalog has been prepared featuring theoretical contributions and other solutions proposed by fifth-year students of the faculty.

The subject exhibition in France is organized in light of the current preparations for the Paris Olympic Games in 2024, after 100 years, and explores the theme "Games of Flowers" through five subthemes: "Water Games," "Childhood Games," "Intellectual Games," "Garden Games," and "Sports Games."

Play, a fundamental part of all cultures and one of the oldest forms of human social interaction, encompasses ideas, worldviews, culture, and enriches future generations. According to the organizers, play is a true source of energy, positive emotions, and promotes challenges and self-improvement.

The exhibition is one of the most important horticultural events in Europe. It has been held every five years in Nantes since 1959 and during its last edition in May 2019, it attracted nearly 250,000 visitors, making it one of the most visited events in France.

The Montenegrin presentation at this prestigious exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism, and State Property.
