On June 23, 2022, the Faculty of Philology of the University of Montenegro organized a graduation ceremony for students of the first generation of the Jean Monnet Module.

Students of the Faculty of Philology, Philosophy and the Faculty of Political Sciences had the opportunity in academic year 2021-2022 to attend this multidisciplinary curriculum conducted by professors from four university units, the Faculty of Political Science, the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Philosophy and the Faculty of Philology, while the research training was realized in cooperation with the University of Nice.

Thanks to continuous multi-year activities of the National Erasmus Office, UMNE professors got acquainted with the goals and program of Jean Monnet actions and recognized the attractiveness of these projects and their benefits for the student population.

The enthusiasm and commitment of the teaching staff to a multidisciplinary module resulted in its successful implementation, which was equally contributed by the motivation of students, interest in topics related to the European Union and active role in teaching and training. Previously, it points to the fact that the EMIMI Module was attended by the most excellent representatives of a UMNE student population who made an effort to attend an additional 66 hours of classes in eight different subjects and undergo training in using Hyperbase software for statistical text processing.

During the first year of the Jean Monnet project, some of the main objectives of the module were successfully met: introduction of topics from the field of European studies where they are not represented in the current curricula, innovation of teaching content, establishment of interdisciplinary cooperation and synergy within diverse teaching and research teams.

In the coming period, the Jean Monnet EMIMI team from UMNE plans to expand invitation for students of all university units that do not study social sciences and humanities. The module should work inclusively through the inclusion of less represented or vulnerable social groups in teaching. In addition to diversifying and strengthening teaching content on European integration and migration, the EMIMI project will support research activities of students and professors as well as the publication of scientific papers related to mentioned topics. Event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Igor Lakić, PhD and project coordinator Assistant Professor Sonja Spadijer. The director of the National Erasmus Office, Ms. Vanja Drljević, addressed the audience, congratulated the students and professors on the successful implementation of the module and emphasized the importance and impact that Jean Monnet modules have. On behalf of the first generation students of the EMIMI Module, Ksenija Vukadinović and Radivoje Vuković spoke about their impressions and the importance of this experience, while professors Milijana Novović-Burić and Olivera Vušović as well as professors Dragan Bogojević and Adnan Prekić evoked individual phases of project implementation, shared impressions and ideas on continuation of the project.
