What Makes the Music Academy at UoM the Right Choice?
For decades, the Music Academy has been successfully educating highly skilled, capable, creative, and competent professionals who shape, create, and define the cultural scene of Montenegro. Primarily through its influence on the continuity of musical creativity and scientific thought about music, the Academy has trained individuals who have made an invaluable impact on the Montenegrin cultural landscape.
Today, the Academy is an internationally recognized artistic and educational institution with well-developed study programs, academic cycles, and significant artistic and scientific activities and results.

The Music Academy is a dynamic community of artists, scholars, and music educators passionately dedicated to their professions and to continuous development and success. Our professors perform and conduct research successfully across Europe, and some also teach in regional centers.

Undergraduate Academic Studies – “Bachelor” Degree (BA)

Eligibility for Enrollment
Applicants eligible for undergraduate studies must have completed a secondary vocational school, high school (gymnasium), or a licensed religious school.
Applicants without a completed secondary school may also take the entrance exam in accordance with the Law on Higher Education (Article 93, paragraph 6).
Foreign nationals are eligible to enroll under the same conditions as Montenegrin citizens, in accordance with legal provisions and the Statute of the University of Montenegro.
Entrance Exams for Undergraduate Studies
To enroll in either of the two undergraduate study programs, applicants must pass an entrance exam to assess their individual performance skills and theoretical/practical music knowledge.
Entrance Exam Structure:
All applicants must take:

Music Theory Test (eliminatory) – for both study programs.
For General Music Pedagogy (GMP):

Artistic Aptitude Test – Practical Part
Consists of 4 parts:-
Solfeggio – written and oral

The University of Montenegro announces three (3) entrance exam periods and three (3) enrollment terms each year: June, July, and September.
Consultations for Entrance Exams
Every year, the faculty offers free preparatory classes for entrance exams at the end of the school year.
These consultations can be attended in person or online via Zoom for those who cannot attend on-site.

Interested candidates for the General Music Pedagogy program can email ma@ucg.ac.me with the subject line “For Entrance Exams”.
Candidates for the Performing Arts program can also email with the subject line “For Entrance Exams – Instrument”.
Consultations are free of charge, held at the Academy’s premises.
Candidates residing outside Montenegro may send a video recording or YouTube link, indicating the professor they wish to contact, after which they will receive the professor’s email address.
Required Documentation for Enrollment
Applicants must submit the following documents with their application:

Original diploma of completed external final exam or vocational exam

Original transcripts from each year of secondary education
-
“Luča” diploma or equivalent (for academic excellence)

Copy of biometric ID card, or equivalent personal document for foreign citizens
-
Proof of winning a 1st or 2nd prize at national or international competitions relevant to the program

Foreign citizens must also provide proof of language proficiency, unless their secondary education was completed in one of Montenegro’s official languages
If a candidate has submitted documents for recognition of a foreign qualification, but the process is not completed by the application deadline, they may conditionally apply with proof of the initiated process.
If recognition is denied or not completed by the beginning of the academic year, the enrollment will be considered invalid.
Candidates submitting duplicate documents instead of originals must sign a statement declaring the originals have not been used for enrollment elsewhere.
Providing false information results in disqualification.
