Plenary Presentation by Igor Lakić, PhD at International Congress in the Field of Applied Linguistics

Igor Lakić, PhD, held a plenary presentation "Promotion and Protection of Regional and Minority Languages ​​in Europe" at the Seventh International Congress "Applied Linguistics Today - Contemporary Theory and Practice", organized on May 27, 2022 at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad.

Professor Lakić, member of the Committee of Experts of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages ​​at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, spoke about legal and sociolinguistic instruments for promotion and protection of regional and minority languages, with special reference to the Western Balkans. Special attention is paid to examples of good practice in language protection, as well as to minority languages ​​whose existence has been called into question.
