European Day of Languages – September 26th

European Day of Languages – September 26th

September 26th is celebrated as the European Day of Languages, and the Faculty of Philology of the University of Montenegro is the right place to celebrate this day. This day has been celebrated since 2001, which was declared the European Year of Languages by the Council of Europe and the European Union.

It is not necessary to remind how important foreign languages are in todays world. For small countries, such as Montenegro, foreign languages are especially important, both on its way to the European Union, and in terms of the development of tourism and the economy as a whole, scientific and any other progress.

This year, classes at the University begin on this very day, symbolically marking the beginning of another, hopefully successful, study year at the seven study programs of the Faculty of Philology, where English, German, French, Italian, Russian, Montenegrin and Serbian language and literature are studied.

We congratulate all students, colleagues, as well as colleagues and friends of the Faculty of Philology on this day, with best wishes for a successful start of the academic year.
