Slobodan (Branislav) Marković was born on November 15, 1970. in Zrenjanin. He completed his studies at the Institute of Geography, PMF of the University of Novi Sad in just 3 years with an average grade of 9.31. He received his masters degree in 1996 and his doctorate in 2000. Since 1994, he has been employed as an assistant at the Institute of Geography, and was elected full professor in 2009.
