The fourth International Solfege Festival - Solfest 2024 successfully realized

Organized by the Music Academy in Cetinje, the fourth International Solfege Festival - Solfest 2024 was held, bringing together 26 students and 13 solfege teachers from almost all elementary music schools in Montenegro, as well as students and professors from the Music Academy.

 

The aim of the event is to further affirm solfege as a foundational subject at all levels of music education and to foster a love for this subject, provide additional encouragement to students who show good results in solfege, and to affirm solfege teachers.

 

The festival was officially opened by the dean of the Music Academy, Prof. Tatjana Krkeljić, M.A., who highlighted the importance of the festival for affirming young musicians and encouraged students to continue their dedicated work in the field of music education.

 

The performances of the participants were evaluated by an international jury, composed of distinguished experts from Montenegro and the region: Prof. Dr. Tihana Škojo (Academy of Arts and Culture, Osijek, Croatia), Prof. Milena Srdić, M.A. (Academy of Arts Novi Sad, Serbia), and Assis. Prof. Dr. Vedrana Marković (Music Academy, Cetinje, Montenegro).

 

In the first category, the first prize, Golden Note for the best a prima vista performance of a melody, was awarded to Ksenija Rakonjac (2012) from JU ŠOMO Bijelo Polje, whose teacher is Julijana Vujošević, while the first prize, Golden Note for the best performance of an etude with piano accompaniment, was received by Beina Čapuni (2011) from JU ŠOMBO Ulcinj, whose teacher is Isljam Adžemović.

 

In the second category, the first prize, Golden Note for the best a prima vista performance of a melody, was awarded to Đurađ Ostojić (2009) from JU ŠOMO "Petar II Petrović Njegoš" Bar, whose teacher is Renata Perazić, while the first prize, Golden Note for the best performance of an etude with piano accompaniment, was given to Kalina Jovanović (2010) from JU UŠMB “Vasa Pavić” Podgorica, whose teacher is Laida Lekić.

 

Apart from the performances, this years festival included two workshops for the participants. Prof. Dr. Jelena Martinović-Bogojević held a workshop titled My Sound Images, and Dr. Vedrana Marković together with Mr. Andrea Ćoso conducted a workshop called I Tell You a Story.
