Call for Applications for Doctoral Studies in the Second Enrolment Period

The University of Montenegro has announced a call for applications for enrolment in doctoral studies for the academic year 2025/2026 during the second enrolment period. The call is available in the attachment to this announcement and in daily newspapers published in Montenegro. More than 90 places are available to interested candidates across 15 organizational units of the University of Montenegro.

Applications should be submitted to the University’s organizational units on Thursday, Friday, and Monday — November 6, 7, and 10, 2025 — by 2:00 p.m.

For the first time, the University of Montenegro will enrol doctoral students at the Faculty of Architecture, in the study program Architecture and Urbanism, as well as at the Faculty of Philosophy, in the study program Teacher Education – Teaching Methodology.

The number of available places for doctoral studies is as follows:
Faculty of Architecture – 7 students, Biotechnical Faculty – 2, Faculty of Civil Engineering – 10, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering – 5, Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology – 2, Maritime Faculty Kotor – 5, Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management – 5, Faculty of Philosophy – 4, Faculty of Sport and Physical Education – 5, Faculty of Medicine – 6, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics – 5, Faculty of Electrical Engineering – 14, Faculty of Economics – 2, Faculty of Philology – 9, and the Institute for Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Studies – 13 students.

The required documentation for enrolment includes: a certified copy of the diploma confirming the obtained academic title of Master in a relevant field of science or art, or an academic diploma for regulated professions with at least 300 ECTS credits; a transcript of exams passed during the master’s program; a birth certificate; and proof of active knowledge of one world language. Candidates are required to submit an application along with evidence of meeting the admission requirements.

Doctoral studies last three years (six semesters), with a total of 180 ECTS credits. Foreign citizens may enrol under the same conditions as Montenegrin citizens, provided they have obtained recognition of their foreign educational qualification from the previous level of study.
