COST Action: UMNE Representatives with European Colleagues about Multidisciplinary Teaching for Social Change

How to educate best and prepare graduated students and form multidisciplinary teaching and studying that is increasingly needed is a challenge faced by higher education institutions in 21st century.

This was one of topics that assembled representatives of universities from 37 countries of Europe, with representatives of the University of Montenegro within COST action at the end of January on the University in Novi Sad.

On behalf of the University of Montenegro, within the action, named Multidisciplinary innovation for social change, participants of the assembly were Stevo Popovic, PhD, Sanja Pekovic, PhD and Bojan Masanovic, Assistant Professor.

Aim of this action was to show how, by adoption of multidisciplinary innovation, may be answered to social issues with the approach that supports positive social changes and development of international public discourse. This will be achieved by establishing Pan-European laboratory for innovations in public sector (ePSI).

Professor Popovic states that COST actions are important for our country and countries from the region in terms of connecting, exchanging experience and introduction of innovations which is the aim of this COST action.

As Dean of the Faculty for Sport and Physical Education, Popovic states that sport has the power to influence on changes in society.

“This has been a heated issue in our region since the 90s and a very important issue since as it may cause conflict it may also reconcile us”, he pointed to one of spheres in exchange of experiences.

He concludes that participation in this and similar actions will be highly beneficial for the University of Montenegro.
