In Dubrovnik a Four Time Champion of Europe in Water Polo Tested

In Dubrovnik today professors of the Faculty for Sport and Physical Education of the University of Montenegro conducted anthropometric measurement of players of Water Polo club Jug, the most successful club in Croatia, with 64 trophies won.  

Water polo club Jug is founded in 1923 in Dubrovnik, and its players have been champions of Croatia for 36 times, has won National Cup for 16 times, and they have four titles in regional Adriatic League. Also, four times they won Champions League, Len Cup once and they have won Super Cups of Europe and Cup of Winners’ Cup twice per each.     

Duško Bjelica, PhD, has conducted measurements with their associates Jovan Gardasevic, PhD and Ivan Vasiljevic, MSc. He thanked to expert headquarters and players of Jug for excellent conditions during measurements and emphasized that every successful sport team also in water polo should use a kind of diagnostic tools for testing and evaluation of athletes as well as creation of training processes.     

"It is necessary to monitor and implement achievements of modern sport science therefore characteristic diagnostics", Professor Bjelica concludes.

Expert headquarters of the Jug team headed by the coach Vjekoslav Kobešćak who has taken part in conducting measurement, has got insight in complete parameters of morphological diagnostics and water polo players were also measured for values of skin wrinkles thickness in certain body parts. Next to trainer Kobescak, measurement was attended by assistant trainer Đani Pecotić and fitness trainer Dajana Karaula.
