Professors of the Faculty for Sport and Physical Education of the University of Montenegro have widen their rich database in this year for new 30 anthropometric measurements with 537 athletes in total out of which 462 in men and 75 in women competition.

"Measurements were conducted with athletes from 23 clubs and national team players from seven different athletes: football, futsal, basketball, volleyball, water polo, handball and karate. In Montenegro, athletes from 11 clubs and national teams and 19 club and national teams abroad”, Dusko Bjelica, PhD said who also conducted measurements with his associates.

He reminded that professors of the Faculty for Sport and Physical Education of the University of Montenegro for the past couple of years conducted overall 55 anthropometric measurements and measured total 2434 athletes from 11 different sports.

"These test give exact indicators of morphological indicators. It is vitally and essentially important to monitor and implement achievements of modern sport sciences since diagnostics in sport has become necessary. Knowing structure of certain morphological features as well as their development condition rational and efficient management of sports training processes”, Professor Bjelica said.

Complete measurements are implemented by bioelectrical impedance, a fast non-invasive method as basis for data on body composition. Next to bioelectrical impedance, athletes were measured for skin wrinkles on certain body segments.

In this year’s measurements, next to Professor Bjelica, from the Faculty for Sport and Physical Education was taken part doc dr Danilo Bojanić, dr Jovan Gardašević, doc dr Milovan Ljubojević and dr Ivan Vasiljević. They will continue with anthropometric measurements and expanding science data base that will serve as basis for numerous research already in the current month.
