Implementation of the project was achieved with the support of the University of Montenegro and the Rector, Vladimir Božović, PhD, to whom, on this occasion, the Dean, Marina Rakočević, PhD, awarded a special certificate of appreciation for his contribution to the development of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, where the conditions have significantly improved in recent years.
“Your vision and dedication to the development of the University have given us strength in this endeavour. Thank you for recognizing the importance of this project for the faculty and enabling us to carry it through,” she emphasized.
At the ceremony, acknowledgments were presented to all those who contributed to implementation of the project, which the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Marina Rakočević, PhD, said was more than just the construction of one hall.
“This is not just a new hall; this is a symbol of development and dedication to education. Academic excellence requires modern resources and methods of knowledge transfer, for the benefit of those who acquire and deliver it. Since its founding until today, the Faculty of Civil Engineering has grown and developed, creating 44 generations of graduate civil engineers who work and build not only in Montenegro but also beyond its borders,” the dean stated, emphasizing that the new amphitheatre will significantly improve learning and working conditions.
The new amphitheatre, with a capacity of 213 seats, was formed in the atrium between three existing wings of the faculty building and represents a modern space intended for conducting teaching activities and other academic content. The total value of the project amounted to €429,907.72, and within it, all construction and installation works were carried out, thus fully adapting the space to modern teaching conditions. The works were carried out by the company IGP “Fidija” LLC Podgorica, with subcontractors Timing LLC and ING Invest LLC.
Special appreciation was also expressed by the Dean, on behalf of the faculty, to Professor Emeritus Mladen Ulićević, the Secretariat for Communal Affairs of the Capital City, as well as numerous companies that made a significant contribution to the construction and equipping of the amphitheatre: IGP Fidija, StructuralARCH, Institute for Civil Engineering, Ramel, Termosistem, Liming Project, and Building FOX.
To the dean Rakočević, who personally led the project from start to finish, selflessly contributing to the realization of one of the faculty’s most significant undertakings in the last decade, gratitude was expressed – to her surprise – by the students and the team of vice-deans: Marija Jevrić, PhD, Ivana Ćipranić, PhD, and Jelena Pejović, PhD.
The ceremony concluded with the message that Amphitheatre 213 will be a place of knowledge, collaboration, and inspiration for all future generations of students and professors, and a symbol of joint effort, progress, and the vision of better education in Montenegro.
