SPOTS Project Successfully Completed

The SPOTS project has undergone a final revision by the partners from the H2020 F-Interop project and was deemed as highly successful. The SPOTS team met all the objectives outlined in the project proposal, and our technical partner has underlined the quality of implementation activities throughout the project.

During the 10 months of the project implementation phase, the SPOTS team delivered:

- Design of test specifications for 3 security protocols that are under standardization within the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).

- The implementation of the test specifications within the F-Interop platform for remote and automated testing.

- The implementation of a Wireshark dissector for one of the protocols targeted by SPOTS. This dissector is now part of the official Wireshark open-source project. Wireshark is the world's most popular network protocol analyzer.

- 3 revisions of the standard proposal for secure network access have been published within the IETF and the 6TiSCH working group. The standard proposal is now in its final phase before being published as an Internet standard (RFC).

- The organization of the Workshop on Design, Deployment and Testing of Internet of Things Technologies (DDT-IoT). The workshop gathered some of the world's most influential names in the Internet of Things arena from the academia, the open-source community and the industry.

As an outcome of the SPOTS project, the team at the Faculty of the Electrical Engineering of the University of Montenegro has started the implementation phase of another project called 6TiSCH Open Data Action (SODA) that also tackles 6TiSCH networks and their standardized evaluation, for the needs of the academia, as well as the industry.
