The award for a special contribution to international ranking of the University of Montenegro: Prof. Dr. Stevo Popović
Associate professor and dean of the Faculty for Sports and Physical Education Stevo Popović, for the second time won the Plaque of the University of Montenegro for special contribution to the international ranking of the University of Montenegro.
"I am overjoyed, because my success has been confirmed once again, while on the other hand, there is a feeling of excessive responsibility, and I can say a little inconvenience, that I have to justify this respect in the coming period. All in all, this is the crown that came at the end of the year, in which, I can say, we have achieved the best scientific research results so far, my research team and I, "said professor Popović, expressing his impressions after the ceremony.
It is difficult for him to set aside any success because each result meant a lot of work and effort, and a unique satisfaction.
However, the fact that we had the opportunity to lead one of the research studies within the "EUFTIMOS" project, which was approved under the Erasmus + program and funded by the European Commission, and to work closely with colleagues from renowned European universities in Lisbon and Munich and to make a great result by publishing the research results in the journal" Frontiers in Pediatrics" which is categorized in the Q1 category in the Web of Science, with an impact factor of 2,634, I would point out as a success that was a special satisfaction for me in 2020," professor Popović said.
Satisfaction, as he said, is special because in this project, his colleagues Assist. prof. Bojan Mašanović and assist. prof. Jovan Gardašević were internationally affirmed.
He especially emphasizes the article that, in the last year, he published together with professor Duško Bjelica, for the second time, in one of the world's most prestigious journals "Lancet", which is also categorized in the Q1 category in the "Web of Science", with an impact factor of 60.39.
When asked what he could do more, Popović said: "I could take this flattering recognition again in two years! I am joking of course. That is not my primary goal, but when the recognition reaches your address, then you are sure that you did well in the previous period.
I would like to emphasize that there is a lot of steps ahead of us, and I can promise that I will try to go forward, as I have done so far, and I am sure that the results will not be absent, as they have not been so far, when approached in the same way. What makes me happy when it comes to further work is the fact that our research team is expanding and that many of them have already established themselves internationally. With the strong support of the University, the relevant Ministry and our organizational unit, I believe that our progress is guaranteed ", Popović concludes.
