ADMISSION TO THE FIRST YEAR OF BASIC STUDIES, FACULTY OF LAW:

Competition for admission to the Faculty of Law of the University of Montenegro in the first year of undergraduate studies for the academic year 2025/26. it was announced today and published on the official website of the UCG and in daily newspapers published in Montenegro.

The competition foresees a total of 210 budget positions at the Faculty of Law.

Candidates can apply electronically, through the www.upisi.edu.me platform. Exceptionally, candidates who are unable to apply electronically can do so directly, through the student service of the organizational unit.

Applications for the competition are submitted on June 26 and 27, 2025, no later than 4:00 p.m., when the electronic application system closes. Applications are submitted directly through the student service during the same period, during working hours.

Candidates who did not take the external matriculation or professional exam take tests in two subjects relevant for continuing education on June 30, 2025. The examination schedule will be published on the websites of the organizational units.

Enrollment at the Faculty of Law is done without a previous entrance exam.

Enrollment of candidates and issuance of certificates will be completed no later than July 4, 2025.

Enrollment of students at the University of Montenegro is regulated in more detail by the Rulebook on the conditions, criteria and procedure for enrollment in undergraduate studies, which is available on the official website.

The Faculty of Law of University of Montenegro conducts education on the level of basic, master and doctoral studies. 

Basic studies

The Faculty of Law at the University of Montenegro is pleased to welcome a new generation of students. All interested candidates will be able to enroll through the electronic platform, in accordance with the procedures that will be specified in the call for enrollment published by the University of Montenegro. The call is usually published at the end of June, in daily newspapers in Montenegro and on the official website www.ucg.ac.me.

The Faculty of Law offers the undergraduate study program Legal Studies, lasting three years (180 ECTS), which provides modern knowledge and competencies necessary for professional development in the field of law.

Digital Enrollment and E-Services Enrollment at the faculty is carried out electronically via the platform upisi.edu.me . Video and written guides are available to candidates, and students who gain the right to enroll will receive a free electronic ID card reader, enabling them to sign the study contract electronically, without visiting the office.

The right to enroll is granted to candidates who have completed an appropriate four-year secondary education (gymnasium, economic, trade-tourism, hospitality, maritime, medical, internal affairs schools, and licensed religious schools).

There is no entrance exam – candidates are ranked based on their high school success and the results of the graduation exam. Foreign nationals also have the right to enroll under equal conditions.

The ranking criteria, along with other relevant information, will be precisely defined in the official call. In previous years, the Faculty of Law has filled all available places already in the first enrollment round, reflecting the high level of interest and the reputation our faculty enjoys.

Master studies:

The Faculty of Law organizes a two-year Master’s academic program (120 ECTS), intended for students who wish to specialize and further develop professionally in the field of law. The following Master’s programs are available:

  • Criminal Law
  • International Law
  • Civil Law
  • Business Law

The call for applications for Master’s studies is typically published in late September, and the admission process includes an entrance exam and evaluation of academic performance from undergraduate studies. Detailed information regarding the structure and schedule of the entrance exam will be announced through the Faculty’s official notifications.

Citizens of Montenegro and foreign nationals who have completed undergraduate academic studies (minimum of 180 ECTS credits) in a relevant field are eligible to apply. Foreign candidates who have not studied in one of the official languages of Montenegro must provide proof of language proficiency.

Doctoral Studies

The Faculty of Law at the University of Montenegro offers three-year doctoral studies in the field of legal sciences, with two available modules:

  • Civil Law
  • Criminal Law

Eligible candidates must have previously completed at least 300 ECTS credits.

The application period is typically held in mid-October, and applications are submitted in person at the office for Master’s and Doctoral studies.

The Doctoral Studies Committee of the Faculty of Law conducts the ranking process. Enrollment of selected candidates is completed by the end of October, while classes begin in early November. Detailed information about the call for applications, deadlines, and required documentation will be published in due time on the Faculty’s website.
