About the Characteristics of Quality Research at the Guest Lecture of Professor Enriko Cek

4 Visual Exercises for a Good Research was the topic of a guest lecture by Professor Enriko Cek within the course Research Methodology for students in the final year of academic masters studies. The importance of sharing experiences in the way of applying methods and techniques for research was discussed by Vesna Karadžić, PhD, professor of the Faculty of Economics on this course. After Professor Karadžićs introductory speech, Professor Ceko gave his lecture. The main goal of his lecture was to provide students with a practical guide on research, on what skills good research requires, as well as what characteristics quality research has.

The first part of Professor Ceks lecture was about a visual exercise on effective visual appearance and attention based on Da Vincis Mona Lisa. At the end of this exercise, the students had the opportunity to draw a conclusion about the basic types of research. The second visual exercise included the presentation of a short video, the essence of which was for students to see the difference in observing the entire video and the details in it, and that this difference actually affects the realization of quality and poorly conducted research. The third visual exercise was a short exercise with the hands, where the students moved their hands according to the rules and orders given by the lecturer, so they failed to move them like the lecturer, because that would be contrary to the pre-set rules - standards.

Conclusion of the third exercise was that final result of the research should not be influenced by the subjective elements of the researcher, but should be set in accordance with the standard research methodology. In the last, fourth exercise, which was called effective listening, Professor Ceko told a short story full of details, which the students then retold to each other. The conclusion of this exercise is that the last student told a story that was significantly different from the original one, and that in research it is very important to keep records.

Professor Ceks biography is impressive. At the Canadian Institute of Technology in Tirana, Professor Ceko is engaged in the Research Methods subject and is the head of the business administration and IT sector. In addition to teaching activities, the professor serves as a senator in the World Business Angels Investment Forum, is an ambassador of the International Association for Peace and an auditor for ISO standards. His previous business experience is related to the Ministry of Agriculture, the British Embassy in Tirana and the World Bank. He participated in more than 70 international scientific conferences and published about 50 articles in international scientific journals.

This is one of a series of guest lectures made possible by the international cooperation program of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Montenegro and partner higher education institutions from abroad.
