On this occasion, Rector Božović emphasized the importance of investing in educational infrastructure as a key component for the development of quality higher education and enhancing the research capacity of students.
"This initiative is part of the University’s strategic goal to improve educational standards, make programs more attractive, and provide modern working conditions for both students and faculty. The completion of yet another major infrastructure project further confirms the University of Montenegros commitment to continuously enhancing its capacities and creating modern conditions for work and education," said Božović.
Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Prof. Dr. Mijat Jocović, expressed his gratitude to the University of Montenegro, particularly to Rector Božović, for the support and understanding in achieving the strategic goals of the Faculty of Economics.
"Today, we witness significant infrastructure projects supported by the University of Montenegro. However, the support is broader and more significant, as it reflects an understanding of the current state of the Faculty of Economics and provides assistance in enhancing the teaching, research, and all other capacities of the first faculty in Montenegro," emphasized Jocović.
Over the past year, four lecture halls have been renovated, covering a total area of nearly 900 square meters, with a capacity of over 400 seats. These spaces now offer modern conditions for teaching, with particular emphasis on several key improvements.
The Mediterranean Hall, with a capacity of 300 seats, has been transformed into a multifunctional space. In addition to lectures, it will be used for conferences, seminars, and other important events.
A new computer lab, created by merging two smaller non-functional rooms, now has 54 workstations and is equipped with state-of-the-art computer equipment. This enables its intensive use in all study programs.
The existing computer lab, with a capacity of 30 seats, has also been modernized and adapted to meet the contemporary needs of the teaching process.
The Millennium Hall, which had been out of use for years, has been fully renovated. With its 50 seats, it becomes a multifunctional space that, in addition to teaching, will be used for panel discussions, guest lectures, seminars, and workshops.
In addition to the lecture halls, the Ekof Lab Research Center was opened during the last academic year, fully equipped for research work. The Centres Room has been adapted for the numerous activities of four centers—the International Cooperation Center, the Career Development Center, the Business Center, and the Statistical Analysis Center.
Rector Božović toured the new facilities accompanied by Chairman Radović and Dean Jocović, as well as the Vice-Deans of the Faculty of Economics—Prof. Dr. Zdenka Dragašević, Assistant Prof. Dr. Jovan Đurašković, and Assistant Prof. Dr. Tamara Backović, along with student representative Zerina Kardović.
