Job Fair Contributes to Reduction of Unemployment
Job Fair contributes to reduction of unemployment in society, because within it students have the opportunity to get in direct contact with representatives of 14 companies about the desired job, internship or vocational training, as well as to submit their CVs to employers. This was announced at the opening of the second Job Fair, organized by the Student Organization EESTEC LC Podgorica, in cooperation with the Union of Employers of Montenegro, in the Multimedia Hall of the Sports and Cultural Center of the University of Montenegro at 3 p.m.
Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Montenegro, Sasa Mujovic, reminded that this scientific and educational institution has been successfully implementing its mission for 60 years - generating engineering staff in the field of energy and information and communication technologies. "The valuable results we have achieved and are achieving do not give us the right to rest on our laurels, because whoever tackles electrical engineering is doomed in advance to the constant need to learn and improve. That, let me call it, the romantic time, which was adorned with the paradigm "Science for the sake of science", is long behind us. We are living a new time, which has its own rules and laws, and a new motto that says "Science in the service of the economy", Mujović said.
He assessed the fair as important, because the academic community and representatives of the business sector meet face to face. "The ball is still in our yard. And we, as a faculty, are ready to hear what the business sector is asking of us - what engineers, what skills, what level of knowledge (practical theoretical). "We will do everything to meet the requirements of modern society and age, because the Faculty of Electrical Engineering is not an institution that feeds on the old glory, but one that is ready to change and adapt to new requirements," Mujović said.
The Secretary General of the Union of Employers of Montenegro, Suzana Radulović, pointed out that the MEF, as an umbrella employers' organization, realized that the Job Fair project can contribute to solving the problems present in our society, namely youth unemployment, especially those with higher education. "The world and the time in which we live, impose the need for rapid adjustment, because technological processes and economic trends require constant improvement, not only those who are already employed, but also those who are just leaving the education system," said Radulovic. She pointed out that youth employment is a socially responsible process, in which, as she stated, employers can make a great contribution and have a great role. "However, it is also an urgent need of our society to prevent the negative trend of young people leaving our country, especially highly educated young people, because this society has invested a lot in them and we have no doubt that they can return much to society with their work, knowledge and skills." Radulovic said. The president of EESTEC LC Podgorica, Filip Marijanović, said that when they learned in October that he would lead the organization and organize a job fair, they were afraid that he would be able to respond to this great challenge. "Today, when we are organizing the biggest project in our one-year mandate, I can proudly say that we have more than responded well to the challenge. In a little more than six months, we organized a 3D workshop, programming competition, video game "Science for Children" CV workshop, today Job Fair, promotion of our faculty to future colleagues. The results are excellent, "Marijanovic pointed out. Zeljko Bolevic, a second-year student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, majoring in electronics, telecommunications and computers, said that he enrolled at that faculty because he considered it promising, and that a degree from that faculty would provide him with a good future in which he would not have to worry about existence. "Today, it is very difficult to find a job in society. And I think that Job Fair is the right opportunity, because in this way we have the opportunity to get informed and be one step closer to how to get a job, which is our goal. At this fair, we can also get information about the trainings offered by companies, which is extremely useful, " Bolević said. Ksenija Maras, a second-year student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, majoring in electronics, telecommunications and computers, said that she came to the fair to get acquainted with the companies. "Today we are aware that college alone is not enough, especially if we want to be successful in a sector such as IT. We hope that today we will be informed about the offers of the companies, as well as about the courses and practices they offer, " Maras said. The representative of the Montenegrin Electricity Transmission System (CGES), Krsto Radulović, said that the company has a stand at the Job Fair for the first time. "At this fair, we can tell students first-hand what awaits them tomorrow in the energy market, which are the latest trends in the field of energy, electronics, information technology. In terms of practical knowledge, students can hear a lot from us ", Radulović stated. A member of the Board of Directors of NLB Bank, Drazen Vujosevic, said that the company is the golden sponsor of the fair, at which students, as he stated, are offered to be informed about employment opportunities in the company. "Our company is constantly looking for new staff, regardless of whether there are currently job advertisements. We are very interested in receiving applications from quality students and graduates. In this phase, we are collecting applications, testing the interest of students, explaining to them what our competencies are, " Vujosevic said. A Memorandum of Cooperation with the Center for Youth Education was signed within the fair.Gold partners of the fair are: Infinum, Coinis, One Montenegro, NLB Bank, CGES, silver partners Crnogorski Telekom, Čikom, BB Solar, Ramel and Domen, bronze: Codeus, ProGroup, Codepixel, Amlitudo, Sienersys, Fleka, and students will be in the opportunity to visit him today until 3 p.m.
