Siemens Serbia and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Montenegro are establishing cooperation on a joint path of promotion and study of modern technologies in power plants with the aim of educating future engineers through work on realistic models.

"The Faculty of Electrical Engineering has been successfully performing its mission of educating engineering staff in the field of electric power and information and communication technologies for 60 years. We, who currently run the Faculty, have an obligation to the generations that diligently built the reputation of the Faculty to do everything to continue the low success and that our main "product" - our students, through the competencies they acquire at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering are a mirror of our quality and dedicated work. ", Sasa Mujovic, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of UMNE, said.

According to the dean, dealing with electrical engineering is a privilege, but also a constant struggle to catch up with extremely fast new technologies, to master them and, most importantly, to make them available to students. He said that it has almost become a tradition for university units to struggle with financial constraints, so the aspiration to stay current becomes even more difficult.

"Even during my student days, I was familiar with the strength and greatness of Siemens, which was and remains synonymous with excellence. We bring up and educate some new generations that simply require constant contact and constant inflow of information from the business partner. In cooperation with Siemens, the faculty management will try to provide them with representative, demonstrative Siemes equipment and software, as well as guest visits by Siemens experts, who would share their invaluable, practical experiences. Just like that, through a combination of theoretical knowledge and acquired practices experiences, our students become competent and competitive for future business challenges.

I take this opportunity to thank Director Lončar and Director Srdanović for valuable donation in equipment and software licenses, and also announcement that they will do everything to provide the Faculty of Electrical Engineering with a digital substation, which would be a unique case in the entire region. We will try to justify their expectations and deserve their attention in the future ", Sasa Mujovic, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of UMNE, said. "Siemens, as one of the leading technology companies, is part of the comprehensive digital transformation of the modern way of life. That is why in cooperation with renowned educational institutions such as the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Podgorica, we recognize our role in bringing advanced technologies and practical experience to future experts in these fields during their studies, " Medeja Lončar, CEO of Siemens Serbia, Slovenia and Croatia, said. The donation of the most modern microprocessor and communication devices, as well as software licenses, will enable the Faculty of Electrical Engineering to form experimental models and scenarios, as well as to introduce new teaching content through lectures and laboratory exercises. We are very pleased to point out that the meeting was attended by the Rector of the University of Montenegro, Vladimir Bozovic, PhD, confirming that cooperation of academic community and business sector is necessary and that the University of Montenegro is very open to all initiatives in this direction.
